Re: A Free Lunch? - Cheap New 24 volt H4 headlight Kit
The new headlights and 24 volt bulbs arrived from Octane lighting sooner than I expected. They looked fine and the H4 bulbs were mounted inside the reflector dome with some kind of spring wire clamp. Easy to replace the bulbs when the time comes. The lights fit inside the M43 headlight buckets just ...

Ready for a little Halloween surgery
This afternoon an interesting box arrived from Midwest Military in Minnesota. Contained inside was a New Old Stock surgical lamp. It is so nice and how unusual to find something in perfect condition from so long ago. And, I wonder how old it is? What a find; and thanks to Midwest Military for keepin...

A Free Lunch? - Cheap New 24 volt H4 headlight Kit
Well, both headlights were out on my new-to-me M43. I thought it might be wiring, but everything checked out. The old sealed beams were just completely burned out. So, I looked into a number of different solutions, the first being my preference which was to stick with the conventional military style...

WTB Surgical light assembly from M43/M25
Looking for the surgical light assembly to fit the M43 ambulance. I think the M725 ambulance used the same one. It should rotate three dimensionally and have a two way red-light white-light switch. Sorry, it has to be in very good condition. Too many repair projects ahead of it to take on another. M...

Re: New 1952 M43 Ambulance
Thank you RickF and NV, As to the explanations relative to the canted tow bar, there is no substitute for experience. Thank you for the insights from your background. Glad to have learned a few things. And as for my F250, it is a 2001. It was a maintenance truck at Dallas Love Field (the airport) un...

Re: New 1952 M43 Ambulance
Hi Gary and Andy, I will get some photos of the siren and some others too and get them uploaded. As I recall the siren has a data plate on it. I kind of wonder if the siren is an add- on by a prior owner. The reason I wonder that is because I had an M725 about 25 years ago that had a siren; that sir...

New 1952 M43 Ambulance
Just brought home a new-to-me 1952 M43 ambulance. I spied it in a yard off a highway in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina a couple weeks ago and made a deal with the owner to buy it. Then yesterday, my son and I drove up from Jacksonville, Florida to bring it home, a 740 mile round trip. It was a long da...

Springs and axles
Would like to buy M37/M43 variants leaf springs and axles. Prefer to pick up in a reasonable radius of Jacksonville, Florida. SC or Eastern GA may not be too far away if the seller has patience on the timing. No rush. thanks, Jerry at Email: 1968M37B1@gmail.com

Re: engine dies after 3 min
That kind of thing is just confounding. I wish I had some mechanic training and could figure those things out easily. However, despite being short-skilled, here is a story that might help: one of my Unimogs was doing the same thing recently. It started after I rebuilt the carburetor. Ran great the f...
