Hi Morgan,
Some of the vendors might have a use for your old drivetrain; PM sent regarding your 230.
Thanks,
Gary

GLAD TO SEE SOME PROJECTS PROGRESSING!
The Builders' Blog is a bit busy right now-nice work, Guys! For me, no M37 work in awhile; however, I've made a couple of runs to the dump hauling odds and ends junk as we upgrade furniture and such around the house. Hope all are well as we trend into Spring, nicer weather, road trips, and Show/Swap...

Re: M37CDN "Gertrude"
Nice progress!
Those center tailgate brackets always seem to sit low-a vise and a BFH will get 'em where they should be. I wouldn't hammer it within the mount or you could break off a well nut.

Re: Need rear safety strap dimensions
54 1/4 from the buckle fold to the other buckle fold; 2 inches wide; 1/8 inch thick. Can be lengthened another 2 inches if necessary. Those measurements give mine a 4-inch drop across the back.

Re: Oil pump prime?
Always better to have the pump pumping oil from the start so you don't scorch any internals waiting for the oil pressure to build.

Re: Approximate age of Marine M-37 in Vietnam
Correction here to John Mc and All: the spare tire mount DID exist on the M43 Ambulance, so it IS possible that the pictured truck could have been converted to the door-mounted spare. Unfortunately, no way to tell from the photo.

Re: Canvas Top Parts
Most all hardtops do not fit with the channel loop in place. I also have a spare set of the soft top horizontal pieces 2 each that sit up top. PM me if interested.
Thanks,
Gary
