Re: Anyone live up in the PNW? Want to drive for a burger?
Jim, I think it would be a great idea and a way for some of us to meet the other enthusiasts in the region. Unfortunately, for me it would be a 4 hour drive and then the ferry to Anacortes, so isn't likely to happen for a day trip. I know there are a bunch in the Vancouver area and likely more aroun...

RMS Check your PMs
RMS, I sent you a PM regarding another local M37CDN owner who needs a carb. His email is in the PM.

Re: Which technical manuals do i need?
Isaac, there are a few manuals available that have been posted by others. I don't have the links on this laptop, but will try to find the links and post them here. A few here are from Steel Soldiers http://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?83365-TM-s-for-the-M37 For your LU4 winch and front knuck...

Re: Replacing exhaust manifold (Building a header)
Isaac, That's some very nice work. For the exhaust dumping in front of the rear tire, mine was modified for civilian exhaust at the end of its service life and they just put a tailpipe that comes out to the side just ahead of the tire, I have never had any issue with it here but then I don't carry t...

Re: Drivers Side Rear View Mirror Rubber Seal
Try a Truck place, as they have a lot of different mirrors, arms and repair bits. You may not find the rubber moulding you are looking for, but will see other options for the mirrors. Most I have seen are now the rectangular mirror rather than the original round ones. Both were in service over the y...

Re: 1953 M37
The easiest way to get a passenger side mirror mount is to copy the Canadian version. All CDN trucks had passenger side mirrors along with some other improvements on the original design. MWM has reproduced the mounting bracket if you don't want to make your own. I'll have to look for a pic to post o...

Re: Slave Connector Jumper Cable Question
Bob, I have the old style slave cable that fits my '53 and got it off ebay a few years ago for $80. Its about 16' long and will reach around vehicles parked side by side. I also have the Nato single pin adapter but have never needed to use it yet. Most MVs I run into are as old as mine or don't have...

Re: Side window gaps
Give MWM a call. There should be rubber weather stripping held by metal pieces around the window, same as on the soft top frame. MWM will have them in stock.

Re: Original Primer on Green Trucks
On my M37CDN, the frame has a black coating right against the bare steel. It is very durable and in good condition in most places. I expect this is some type of frame paint that they used, as the original dark green is next over top. I wish I could get something as good today. The body of this truck...

Re: anyone have a hard top in my area...new hampshire
The US used CCKW tops modified to fit the M37s when the users realized that the soft top isn't good in all climates... The best choice would be an original hard top 'arctic top' to you guys. They were standard on the CDN built trucks and I have seen a number of pictures of USAF trucks with them fitt...

Re: T98 Tranmsission Shift Tower
The T98 was used in International and I think, Ford trucks. I know the internals can be sourced for the International transmission and will fit the Acme T98. This was proven by Bill Anthony when his transmission cratered, and destroyed his Acme PTO. Bill lives in Churchill, Manitoba, so running to t...

Re: Lower door weather strip question
Look on the Mid West Military site, they sell the metal strips and may have a picture posted. They are not that expensive and hold the rubber strip properly for a tight seal from the road dust.
VPW may also have a picture in their catalog if you hunt around.

Re: Easier method to remove broken bolts
RMS, Those impact drivers are tool that until you own one, you never know you need, but after breaking down and getting one for a large dock project, I'd never be without. Something like an air framing nailer. Gets the job done, faster, and much easier.
