Re: after 2 weeks....M37 looking good.
Andy,
Just spotted your M37. I had to laugh, I teach Auto out in San Leandro, CA and we just picked up an M37 to play with. You guys did a great job. I'll have to show your photos to my students for some inspiration. I'd love to see more photos.

T245 Timing curve?
Thought we'd pull the dizzy and check it on the Sun machine. Does anyone know of a timing curve that works pretty well on a stock engine using currently available gasoline? Thanks.

Re: WTB: brake bits, hood holder, PCV bkt., F/R Diff.
Gary, I spoke w/ John at Midwest today and have some goodies on the way. He did have the springs we need. I also spoke w/ Chuck at Surplus City and he's checking on some T/O items for me. Ed, Thanks for the reply, I've found brake shoe springs (see above) but am still looking for the hood prop retai...

Re: Introduction, Just jumped in!
Progress (!?) continues. I spend an insane # of hours Sunday washing the truck. It's amazing how durable the wonder mud is, nothing short of point blank with the pressure washer would budge the stuff. At least it's easier for us to inspect and work on. While we are waiting on some parts and planning...

Re: Anyone in N. California Bay Area?
I just purchased a '51 last Sunday. I'm in Oakland and the M37 is spending time in San Leandro. I teach Auto at San Leandro High and this is our latest project. Quite a change from previous projects including a string of Fox Mustangs, a Midget, and a VW bus! We've just started tearing into it and it...

Anyone in N. California Bay Area?
Just thought I'd see if there's anyone local in the M37 crowd.

Re: Introduction, Just jumped in!
The fun has started... Ordered some parts today and will be looking for more. We removed all of the brakes there was one oddball set of shoes the PO put on so that started what I expect to be an avalanche of parts orders. Unfortunately it looks like the front diff is toast and the rear's tired. I'm ...

WTB; LR Shackle, Hood Clip, Single Plug Light Sw.
Going to keep editing/updating this list, thought I'd leave a list of the stuff I've received so others could use it in the future. Received: Shoe Hold Down Springs: new parts from John at Midwest Small bracket that anchors the control cables for the PCV to the uppermost stud on the carb: new parts ...

Re: Introduction, Just jumped in!
Thanks everyone. I'm excited to see all the replies :)! Well, I took the advice given and recorded the S/N's of the truck and just finished entering them in the registry. The S/N's are as follows: MFR. SER. NO. 80017193 CONTRACT NO. 8615 DATE DEL. 12-14-51 MODEL T245 Engine No. T245-I2246 Frame No. ...

Re: Introduction, Just jumped in!
Gary, Thanks so much for the welcome and info. I suspect I'll be contacting some of the vendors soon, the list gets longer daily! I found some good .pdf's online this evening dealing with M37's and my plate is pretty full at the moment. Since the vehicle sat so long there are quite a few unknowns an...

Introduction, Just jumped in!
Hello, I've just purchased an M37 and joined the group. I've like them since I was a kid and admired the brush trucks at the local fire station. Seems having a break over the holidays and access to craigslist leads to all kinds of new projects! I'm a high school auto instructor and I thought it woul...
