Re: How loud?
I have used those gray foam interlocking floor mats you can find at hardware and auto stores. I think even Princess Auto (Canada) and Harbor Freight (USA) carry them.
Lighter, easier to cut and form, and a closed foam rather than rubber. Worked well in my M1009 CUCV.

Hydroboost brakes for M37
Has anyone tried to install a hydroboost system similar to that used on the Chevy trucks (1984 to?) on their M37?
Would be good in tandem with a power steering setup.

Two years down the road......... Pulled out all the seat cushions. All the canvas covers were is pretty sad shape. I have a friend that just opened a tarp shop, and he said he would sew new covers for me. I found OD green tarps that had been treated.......you know, that old military canvas smell, li...

Re: Why the m37? WHATS SO GREAT?
Rode in my first M37 as a Civil Air Patrol cadet back in 1975. We were using it to transport old newspapers to the rcycler to generate cash for our "squadron". We were hauling butt southbound on I-65 through Louisville when we were pulled over by the local gendarmes. Insisted that we were ...

Re: 2 Mile High M37
When we were driving through the West last year, I saw an M37 outside of Durango, top of the hill on 550 after the 550/160 interchange. It wouldn't hapen to be one of ya'lls is it?

Jim, if the dwell is too long it can burn the points. Is the dwell set to standard? Dwell meters can be hard to find nowdays. I found one at a local flea market. Garage sales are good to, just stay away from the ones where you see nothing but baby clothes and Little Tykes toys. I have a 6/12 volt ba...

M37 and M101 trailer at Wenatchee, WA yesterday
Went on a road trip yesterday to Wenatchee. Along much of the same route as Jim Lee was taking, glad to NOT see Theodore broken down alongside the road. While driving through Wenatchee, there was a small Harley/motorcycle show in the parking lot of a bike parts dealer. Lo and behold was an M37 and t...

Welcome! Nice looking truck.
BTW Beacon Ray is the name Federal gives to the emergency lights they manufacture, either rotating or strobe.
When I was wearing the pickle suit we had yellow warning lights on our trucks with the acronym of RAWLS lights.
Rotating Amber Warning Light System.

Interestingly enough, all the hardware on these was SAE and not metric. Odd.
