Re: Building a retro M37

Re: What modern engines would you choose?
Retiredguy, I'd say yours is more of a '92 with a badass body kit than an M37... The Gov't probably agrees since it has to be registered and insured by the frame not the body... Either way, I would love nothing more than to put a 6bt under the hood of mine, but it doesn't seem like that is going to...

Re: What modern engines would you choose?
I just finished mine. Has a 6BT auto trans. Custom custom M37 though... Looks great and runs wonderfully. gets 22 MPG. very happy with mine. The 1st gen cummins noise really suits the look of this M37.... my 2 cents.

Re: Building a retro M37
Retired guy, Your truck looks great, I love the choice of colors. I think you will turn allot of heads while cruising it around. I have a question about ride height on your truck. Are you using stock springs that you had re-arched or different leaf springs? Could you measure from the ground to the ...

Re: POR-15 Question
I used POR15 on my frame but mine was sandblasted first. With the rough surface of the metal after sandblasting the POR15 seemed to penitrate right into the pores of the metal. I had to remove some brackets off frame after so I chipped some POR15 off and what I found is that the metal itself was bla...

Re: Building a retro M37
I think I came up with the solution for the rear window slider fuzzy. Velcro! This is what I got. It was 2" wide velcro, too wide of course and I only used the fuzzy side. Also the wondow rail was too low and it sunk too deep into the slot. So I had some of this "hallway runner" stuff...

To the original poster, you should get a hold of Faucher industries in Edmonton http://www.faucher.ca/04_Gaskets_and_Seals.html Well I went to Faucher industries in Edmonton and they checked all they had and they were all too big. So I stopped at out local upholtlstry shop and picked up some materi...
