It's bikini (top) time!

Last year we had discussed bikini tops and where to get them. I finally had a chance to make up a prototype for myself. I have road tested it and I am ready to offer them to anyone that would be interested. This top is made from Sunbrella brand acrylic canvas. This is the leading brand of material f...

Re: Trying to adapt 318 again

Rich, When I put my 318 in my M37, I took the stock radiator to a radiator shop. They plugged up the lower hose hole and welded on a new fitting on the drivers side. It worked great and it has kept my 318 poly cool even with long idle times in parades. By using the stock radiator, It was one less he...

Re: 318 V8 swap lessons learned

Yea, I'm not sure why I couldn't bolt the 318 bell housing to my stock NP420. I recently acquired another NP420 right out of a stock 52 M37 and it is exactly the same bolt pattern as the one that was in my truck. But. no matter, the NP435 out of the donor truck was an easy swap. The only modificatio...

318 V8 swap lessons learned

After two years, I finally have my 318 Poly V8 installed in my M37 and running good. One thing that took so long was finding a bellhousing to matchup with the stock NP420 transmission. I was assured before I started that the 318 bell would bolt right up to it. I had seen some swaps myself. After ama...

Re: M37 Bikini top

Joe,
It looks like they have already set us up in the bikini top business. I will definitely get a prototype made up as soon as possible. We will have to talk shop sometime. My website is http://tannersalleyleather.com

Re: M37 Bikini top

Well guys, I own a leather shop and I have made my own cargo cover as well as seat covers and top for my M37. Tim and I are working on a cockpit cover idea so I am sure I can make up a bikini top. Manufacturing leather items keeps me pretty busy but If none of the big names in canvas seem interested...

Re: Link to pictures of my project

Tim, Your truck looks great! Very clean. I know know what you mean about feeling good to get it moving under its own power. Mine is finally moving under its own power (318 poly V8) also after two years. I had better get that front cover designed that we had talked about . It sounds like you may be n...

Re: Cowl Vent headache...

My cowl vent channel was pretty far gone too. After I sand blasted it, I formed new sections using aluminum foil and duct tape. I then used fiberglass mat and resin to finish it. It worked really well, is solid and it seals tight with no leaks for four years now. Although a little tedious, I think i...

Re: dodge m37 marine corp hood handle

Hi Charlie, Getting any closer to the tonneau cover project? I mounted the rope hooks for the top yesterday and was thinking about you! Tim Tim, I am still waiting to get my truck back from the guy who is helping me put the 318 V8 in. Now that the weather has improved, We can wrap that project up. ...

Re: dodge m37 marine corp hood handle

I picked up a hood handle from Vintage Power Wagons when I was out at the Power Wagon Rally last year. We had the run of the yard. They had quite a few M37s with hood handles and I was surprised at the differences in the handles, even the height. The one I got (as did most) just had washers and nuts...

Re: Keeping water from pooling on canvas

I run an adjustable webbing strap on each side of the center bar from front to back. It works pretty well (the pools are much smaller) and doesn't impede top removal if necessary.

Re: Electric fuel pumps

I replaced my fuel pump with an electric one also. It is made by Walbro that came highly recommended. I got it from a place called Go2marine. Part number is WA FRB-16-2. This is for the 24 volt system. I mounted it on the frame near the tank. It has worked great. No more vapor lock problems. You wil...

boarding ladder

I bought a boarding ladder from a boating supply company. While not stock, the top lays flat on the folded down tail gate and it has hand holds that extend almost two feet above the tail gate. This works real well when loading elderly veterans or small children. I just cut it to length and sprayed i...
