Tasmania Fires
Monkey Man are you OK down there? The fire reports look very grim. I'd send you some frozen mud from here if I could.

Re: WTB Door Check arm mount
Thanks Bob !! I must have looked at those pages 50 times and never saw that. Now I just have to figure out what was supposed to hold it in the first place.

WTB Door Check arm mount
On the inside of the door is mounted a slotted steel plate that the door check arm slides through (and eventually bumps up against). It is not shown in any manual photos. I have a really good drivers door that is missing this one part. I think if I cut the face off the "bump" on the inside...

Re: EAST COAST--BE CAREFUL!!
Ferries are canceled. Airport is closed. Low lying roads along the beach are flooded/closed. One road still open to the back side of the hospital. Wind 40's gusts 60+ and building. Scattered power outages. Job site stand by generator came on for an hour or so. Job site trailer is starting to wobble ...

Canadian PTO idler gear
Bill Anthony in Churchill Manitoba is still looking for a CDN (Acme) PTO idler gear. Yes, I know the subject has come up before but maybe there are now some new members that have a lead. My info that VPW had some was wrong. Any possible threads to follow would be appreciated. I'll send the info on t...

Felt flange oil seal installation
Reference:POWER TRAIN BODY AND FRAME TM 9-8031-2 Paragraph 79 So before I saturate the seals with oil I decided to try a dry fit. Jammed in as tight as they will go they stick out the end of the retainer about am inch. I can't imagine that soaking them in oil will make them shorter. The new felts ar...

Re: Rust Removal.....what works best?
I think you want to look up OSPHO. It is phosphoric acid blended as a rust stabilizer and used a lot on boats. Information is available on the internet.

Re: Leveling my M37
I don't know what you mean by "leveling". Perhaps you should look at the front springs closely to see if they are collapsed or broken. I definitely wouldn't take any leafs out.

Re: What were the "Big Electric Days" ?
I got my M 152 from an ad on the "Big Electric" site. It was the place to find an exchange of information between people who had a common specific interest. At least you knew you weren't the only one crazy enough to want to fix, resurrect, save, modify, tinker with, restore or sometimes ac...
