In the early ORD9 version of the manuals there are some close up pics of the interior and you can tell that the seats are covered in a grain textured vinyl type material. I beleive that at least for some time the trucks came from the factory w/ such a covering and that canvas was just a more expeide...

Technically point gap (dwell) affects timing so as the points rubbing block wears and the gap changes so does timing. By utilizing an electronic system the dwell never changes and so neither does the timi...

The dodge serial number is stamped into the frame. The army registration number is on the hood sides, under many layers of paint if you can ever sucessfully uncover them. Otherwise unless you have a very good friend in TACOM (Tank Automtive command)with acess to old records, you never will know the ...

I beleive they found little real need for the hand primers on the dash, an so deleted them(also to save money). Just using the hand choke is enough to get the truck started, unless it sat long enough for the fuel in the carb to evaporate then there was the hand lever on the fuel pump for that. I had...

One may be a car engine, the 230 appeared in all chrysler products of the time, but some diff. occured between cars and truck applications. One is the very head itself which has a letter cast into it on the top toward the back denoting the div. it was made for: DT was dodge truck, D was dodge, P was...

The dash panels should interchange w/ all jeeps an trucks under a duece it is a standard, the duces and larger had more gauges an so a larger panel. Other than that the diff is that they went from the metal douglas connectors to the rubber packard type wire connectors, the dash light assy changed at...

Disc brakes require much more foot pressure to apply than do drum brakes, drum brakes are self energizing and disc arent. All cars equipped w disc brakes are power assist( with the exception of the tiniest of cars). This is required to insure any driver can apply enough braking force in any situatio...
