On the lift checking it out and looking at the massive reciever hitch someone installed. Welded to the frame, what a mess to cut off.

Finally got a chance to pull it in the shop and start assessing things. Not bad over all, but like all old MVs needs some stuff. This is our 4th MV that we've fixed up. Thanks a lot for the explanation and I may ask for some more pics. Ours is missing bumperetes and has a home made receiver hitch installed. Also has some kind of civilian trailer lights for tail lights. So all that will need to be removed and put back like original.

Thanks for the welcome guys. Oh yes, my wife did pick this one out. She found it and bought it. We made a very interesting but uneventful trip to New York to pick it up. Great looking truck. love the detail of the bolts on the front winch etc. From your pictures I've figured out what mines missing on the rear. I take its that's the exhaust extension on the right rear?Thanks

Submitted before finishing information. Its a 1953 Air Force M37 with hard top. It runs and stops great. Still it needs some work. Most rust appears in the cab top area with the frame and under carriage in very good condition. Previous owner had many new parts installed to include brakes, fuel tank ...
