Thanks guys,
After looking at the whole situation I realized that the holes in the bottom of the bracket were drilled slightly off center which threw off how it sat in the bed, a bit of filing fixed it.

Is there a spacer or something that goes under the spare tire bed mount where it is bolted to the top edge of the front bed panel? I ask this because the top flat part of the mount slants down to meet the bed front panel at an angle and was wondering if there is a special piece that is beveled to pr...

Thanks Murph, they all had the squarish toothed washers on them so I was pretty sure they were military but wasn't sure.

Do you know why the British don't make computers? They haven't found a way to make them leak oil. After owning a TR6 many years ago I had to chuckle when I first heard that.
