Re: 1952 M37 CDN Restoration
Quite a bit has been done in the last couple months. Frame is all painted up and back home. The paint is armourshield. https://www.dropbox.com/s/1tfk1qq0yynuk7i/Photo%202017-03-23%2C%2011%2021%2016%20AM.jpg?raw=1 Also stripped out the old cab so I can get it out the door and bring in the new one. Fr...

Re: 1952 M37 CDN Restoration
Thanks guys. It is a 2 part epoxy primer and 2 part epoxy gloss black paint that is going on it next. I'm getting it done through the local heavy truck repair shop where I have some contacts so the paint is whatever they use there. They say it hold up well on their trucks.

Re: 1952 M37 CDN Restoration
More work done today. Got the banana bend out of the rear frame crossmember, also straightened the front fuel tank support and ground the rivets off to separate the front and middle crossmembers so the sandblaster could get in there to clean them up. And got the frame delivered to the sandblaster. T...

Re: 1952 M37 CDN Restoration
Not a lot of photos lately as the progress hasn't been exciting. Steadily working away at getting the frame stripped down. Finally got there today. The plan is to straighten the rear crossmember on Sunday and then it is off to be sandblasted, primed, and painted. https://www.dropbox.com/s/mwtrl8859u...

Re: 1952 M37 CDN Restoration
Hi Robyn, thanks as always for the pointers. The long bolts through the exhaust might be a pain, I just haven't got to them yet. Was busy taking off the other hardware and getting the cab prepped for removal. Now that it's off I'll finish stripping the engine down and hopefully get it pulled in the ...

Re: 1952 M37 CDN Restoration
Quite a bit of progress over the last couple of days.
Got the engine mostly stripped down and almost ready for removal, and the big one got the cab off.

Re: 1952 M37 CDN Restoration
The last couple days have mainly been cleanup of parts already taken off. The left front fender has had all the lights etc removed. The rear frame crossmember has been stripped down in preparation for straightening. The Pinole hitch didn't want to come off and a few of the bumperette bolts also put ...

Re: 1952 M37 CDN Restoration
I was wondering if the crossmember was formed that way or it was bent, now I guess I know the answer. The box floor bolts didn't come easy. The 4 corners came off ok with some persuasion but the two centre bolts needed nuts welded to the top as they were just spinning in the rotten bed. One came loo...

Re: 1952 M37 CDN Restoration
A bit of progress today, managed to get the box off. Fuel tank out, It was one dry and rust free so that will be helpful. Looked like there was a leak around the fuel return line that someone tried to jb weld and that is why I think they stopped using it. Frame is looking pretty solid, except for th...
