Re: ARB Air Locker Question

I'm sorry I don't have a picture. It is a round heavy plate with tangs cut in the center hole. You start it at the pinion gear end and roll it up to the bearing. The tangs allow it to spiral up the teeth to the back of the bearing. Then grab the plate with standard puller. Hopefully your following m...

RMS wrote:how did you remove the old bearings with out wrecking them? what did your puller look like ?
Split bearing plate with puller.
The pinion inner bearing takes a special pulling plate which I have from Bob Stahl.

Re: ARB Air Locker Question

A friend of mine and myself have installed several ARB's and used the original bearings with no issue.
Providing of course they were usable.
If not then we replaced with the same.

Re: Rear Hub Sleeve

That seal rides on the outer bearing lock nut, if I'm understanding you.
Don't know of the sleeve number I just replaced the nut from any of the usual suppliers when needed.
I know John at MW had some made.

Re: Intake and exhaust manifold

It's stuck on the two longer center studs through the manifold.
Keep soaking those two and working the manifold with a "slight" pry
Front, center and rear. pry out tap back. take your time to let the
build up of rust clear from the two holes.

Split bearing puller will remove the bearings.

Bower number will cross to Timken, might even be same number,
Can't remember.

Re: M37 Build Records from Chrysler

It would be nice to know what all of those dots under "additional equipment" were for. Info on the other dots would be nice too! The dot's are actually the punch holes for the card reader. I a photo copy they show up as dot's. Every place there is a dot means the truck was equipped with t...

Re: Differential tools availability?

Not that I'm aware of. Might get lucky at a swap meet or the like. You will have to fabricate any specialized tools needed. That's what us that have worked on the diff's have done. Bob Stahl (Veteran Vehicles ) had some of the pinion bearing press plate's At one time. Not sure if he has any left. Al...

Just a thought
Was common to drill out damaged holes to 9/16 and re-tap.
Could be the case?

As you found that fitting is no longer made.
Hope your used on works out.
The only other thing to do other than used is to change to
3/8 pipe and fittings.
