Re: M37 bumper markings for the 101st airborne
Well, we need a little more information before we can help you out with your numbering. The bumper markings when read left to right go Highest Head Quarters, then next level down HQ and then the unit the truck is assigned to. So it would be 101AB to start, but then was grandpa assigned to Division H...

Re: M37B3 Project
Here is a link to a blog post I wrote for work. I 3d printed a part for the roof of my truck. Thought I'd share it with you all. https://heightslibrary.org/3d-printing-one-mans-story/ BTW I have completed the work on the rear axle. New diff cover gasket, new pinion shaft seal and a new breather vent...

Re: Selling my M37/M42
You could always rent a storage garage and put the truck there when not using it. After all the blood, sweat, and tears that you put into it I'd hate to see you sell it. Just a thought....

Re: M37B3 Project
Okay I decided to start on the rear axle. Here is my saga so far.... Started working on the rear axle. Back in 2009 I ordered disk brake conversion kits off of that auction site that stated that the kit would fit either a Ford or a Dodge Dana 60 rear axle. The kit uses new rotors and calipers from a...

Re: M37B3 Project
Got a little more work done. Got the front and rear shocks on, the rear bumpers, the pintle hitch, the crossmember for the transmission and the running board brackets on, and painted all the hardware. Next is to figure out if I want to rebuild the front axle or the rear axle.... decisions decisions....

Re: M37B3 Project
Unorthodox but effective! Well done! Gary Yeah I discovered that my diff had plenty of oil in them LOL. I had to keep cleaning to paint because they leaked out of the vent holes. But hey I got it all painted and it's now ready for parts to bolt in. Hopefully I'll get back out there in a few weeks. ...

Re: M37B3 Project
So, I had to figure out how to paint the underside of the frame. I don't have a lift. I wasn't going to lay on my back. My kids are all adults with their own kids and the grandchildren are not old enough to help grandpa in the garage. Flip it on it's side and paint it. Yep that's what I did. I used ...

Re: M37B3 Project
Looking great! BTW - where did your username "k8icu" come from? Thanks. It's my amateur (ham) radio call sign. I've been a ham for 42 years. Originally licensed as ka8icu but I was able to get a vanity call sign and drop the A out of it. Most people did on the air anyway so I thought migh...

Re: M37B3 Project
That bump sticking out of the fire wall is where the steering column that I'm using will go. I've converted the steering to power steering and since I'm using M880 axles I'm using a Dodge W200 power steering box and drag link, which works much like the original steering just simpler with out all the...

Re: M37B3 Project
Sebastian, You should go to my website http://leathernaturally.com/m37project/ and see the rust I had in the cab and how much of the drivers side I had to replace. This is why I decided to resto-mod the truck instead of actual restoration was because the truck was so bad that most people would have ...

Re: -34P Manual
What specifically do you need to know? Hal I want to use it for the the different bolts sizes, length thread pitch (though I know everything is fine thread) etc to put the truck back together. Most of the original bolts are so rusted that they either broke when I took them off or have no thread lef...
