Re: where to find inside m37 mirror

Re: Advance Auto / CarQuest merger
Charles in your opinion is/are Car Quest parts of a better quality (or same quality but cheaper price) as NAPA? Or in this day and age is it all overseas made and of the same quality? I am looking for a wide generalization here unless you have observed that "X supplier" has better exhaust ...

Looking for the inside of Budd rims
I am looking for the inside (riveted center) of a Budd rim. I actually need 3 or more. A lot of time when you remove tires the lock ring lip is rusted enough that I wouldn't trust re-using the rim but the center is good. As long as the center is not bent or the lug stud holes are not wallowed out th...

Re: MVPA FORUM...
I like this site best and have for years. The MVPA site has so little activity I hardly ever go there. Unfortunately some of the guys on the SS can get rather testy with people for reasons that baffle me. I suppose since I don't own a deuce and a half I just don't understand. I prefer not to post on...

Dragging on?
Dragging on? ........... My first M37 (Big Blue) was purchased in 1992 and took me 5 years to get back on the road followed by 3-4 more years of "fiddling". I was given 2 more trucks in 2004 and decided I could build 1 good one out of the two. I started in the spring of 2005 on my "tw...

Re: what is the proper way to break in a new engine
Thank you. So noticed on another Post elsewhere that it seems the Optima Red Tops are still going strong after 4-5 years. Roughly how much more expensive are these batteries then a NAPA (like 20%, 50%?) and where do you get them? Are the physical dementions width and depth the same as a similar NAPA...

Re: Battery Ranking
So after 5 years the Red Tops are still going strong? Are you cranking the original dodge M37 engine or something heavy like a diesel?

Re: Battery Ranking
I used to use Interstate but have now found the quality of a NAPA about the same and less in price. I am of the opinion that any battery that lasts more than 3 years at a FULL functioning level does not really exist. BUT what about some of the other batteries on the list that are "sealed" ...

Straying from the original point of this thread????
Our Founding fathers knew that Capitalism and a democratic form of government would only work with a godly citizenry based on Biblical principles where one does what is right mainly because it is right. Not because they feared punishment. However we all mess up at some point to one degree or another...

Re: data plates on m37
Pardon my ignorance but does this Cadillact place make new data plates and are they the raised letters like original? Does laser etch mean that the entire plate is raised lettering or just the numbers they fill in on an existing data plate?

Re: Frame off M37 up for Auction, comes with L19E Bird Dog
This makes me drool............. in the late 70s and then early 80s I worked at Van Zandt airport in Eastern PA near the Deleware river. They had a very active glider tow operation and I helped maintain the bird dogs. Some Saturdays we had 3 bird dogs in the air, a Citabria and occasionally 2 Steerm...

Re: WTB - M37 wheels and tires
I remember that but I don't think I have any pictures. You towed it home with your car. Do you have any pictures? I managed to parley the money you gave me and got a rough Pioneer Tool trailer which I rebuilt. Sadly the guy I bought the trailer from is currently in hospice and the family is gatherin...
