Re: Letter to the Governor
At this point im seriously considering pushing pushing my state rep to apply these rediculous rules to all modified cars in Wisconsin so that it draws enough attention and heat they reverse it. How is it that modifying a military truck is held to a different standard than any other modified vehicle ...

Re: Letter to the Governor
Well gents, a seriously disheartening reply: Dear Mr. Artrip: Thank you for your request for additional information regarding military vehicles. Governor Walker has asked me to respond on his behalf. The law regarding how military vehicles are registered changed on October 1, 2010. The law re...

Re: a solution to global warming
My favorite part about the global warming scam is that the greenies like to omit the fact that monther nature herself is the biggest polluter. Volcanoes give off more CO, CO2, and sulfur compounds than all the engines in the world combined. The EPA should start fining Hawaii!!!

68 is the correct count. I ordered a few extra when I did mine in case I screwed a couple of them up.

Brett, that looks pretty cool with all the modern goodies on it under the hood. I see you even kept the drive by wire!

a solution to global warming
On a completely unrelated note to military trucks: a buddy and I solved global warming earlier this morning. While discussing electric cars, their supposedly innoculous source of free energy if you listen to the EV proponents, and why we can’t shoot nuclear waste from power plants off into outer spa...

Re: Modern Repower
Brett,
You can get brass bushed U joints as well. Designed specifically for low movement, high torque driveshafts. Tom woods driveshaft shop carries them. Kinda pricey, but I think they have a lifetime breakage and wearout guarantee, so long as you keep them greased...

Re: Building a retro M37
You could always weld a trigger wheel to the "bell" of the crank pulley and mount the sensor to the timing cover in front. Im not sure what the minimum tooth count is for the dakota digital box but i remember from reading the directions it was pretty low. A 36 tooth wheel would probably do...

Re: Building a retro M37
I used one in mine, if you look at my rebuild thread, you can see where I drilled and tapped the cummins aluminum adapter.
I got the sensor in the scrap bin at work, so, no idea where the part came from, who makes, it, part number etc. Sorry.

Re: Letter to the Governor
I might one day for the heck of it. Id love to get a set of square tube timken axles and a long travel coilover suspension under it. Maybe when the day for those come i'll do the frame as well. I actually have a new project to devote my time to, a 1987 Porsche 944S. Fun car, but it needs a bit of wo...

Re: Letter to the Governor
Thanks for the feedback guys. I cleaned it up before i sent it, and my offer of a ride would be contingent on receiving WI plates! Lol

Letter to the Governor
After reading Tim's positive experience in Iowa, i got inspired and sent the following to Governor Scott Walker of Wisconsin, requesting his help with getting plates for my truck. I will keep this updated if anything comes of it. Governor Walker, I am contacting you with the intent of making you awa...

Re: Dodge slant 6 over flathead 6 ????
I think you should do what makes you happy with the truck... Its your truck. If you want an OEM restoration, there's nothing wrong with that, but the original questioning of this thread was much different. If the truck isnt what you want, you'll hate working on it. There are plenty of M37s out there...

Re: Short Video
One good thing about old trucks is the cool noises that come from their gearboxes. Nothing beats the whirrr of an old iron cased transfer box.
