First car show!

Took the rig to its first car show in a long, long time. Ended up winning best of show! :D Was a small show, about 80 cars, but, still felt GREAT! There was a constant crowd around the rig, and, when I lit the Cummins and pulled away to go home, the whole place stood still!

Re: Change of plans, AGAIN!

It runs fantastic. The cummins was well worth the effort. I Have one other new issue. The brakes are sticking from time to time. Its an easy fix, stop and crack the bleed screws, just annoying. Seems to be happening less and less though so I hope the issue will jsut go away on its own.

Re: Change of plans, AGAIN!

Got my plate. Licensed, titled, and registered under me and my dad in Michigan. Threw together the last few bits and took it for its first ride tonight. It's quite amazing the amount of into you can gather in 15 minutes of poking around town :D First, the good: +Power. Holy Moses does it have power....

Re: Wisconsin won't register my truck!!!

Cuz, you are incorrect on several key points: a 1955 Chevy has unlimited road use rights, except for the aformentioned winter month limitation, or as a daily driver. It can be taken out for cruise nights, car clubs, etc. A MV cannot. For maintenance and parades only. That same 1955 Chevy can also st...

Re: Wisconsin won't register my truck!!!

Yes, they are, Even though they were not built with the intent of meeting the 1960's federal safety requirements for obvious reasons. To add even more fuel to the fire, you can home build vehicles here in Wisconsin out of whatefer you want, have them inspected by the state police, if they issue you ...

Re: Wisconsin won't register my truck!!!

Given the wording of the law, I actually anticipated this would happen. Carl thought I was being paranoid... Not so paranoid anymore am I carl? Mitchell down in Madison is the only one that processes these, and from the tone, wording and attitude of his voice on the phone, it is clear that he enjoys...

Good thought, but, once he brands the title, it wont be usable in Wisconsin any longer.

Wisconsin won't register my truck!!!

Sent in my 262 bucks for hobbyist plate, as well as 75 for the title, mailing fees, etc. almost $400 later, they wont register it. Doesn't qualify for a Hobbyist plate because its an MV, and it doesnt qualift for an MV plate because I modified it. Mitchell, the fine upstanding person in Madison at t...

Drove it last night for the first time in over 8 years. Was fantastic! :D Was only up and down my alleyway, as the driver's door doesnt shut yet (no latch in it) I didnt have a transmission cover, no liscense plate, windshield, or throttle (pulled the injection pump lever with a piece of string) but...

Re: Change of plans, AGAIN!

Enigne is sitting on mounts in the frame. Fits perfect, couldnt ask for it to fit any better. Working on the transmission mount now. I boxed the backside of the mount, but left the front side open, and welded a strut rod in at the top to keep the mounts nice and open to make it easy to get the bolts...

Re: Change of plans, AGAIN!

Diesel is in, sort of. It’s sitting in the truck, not bolted down yet. Fits excellent. The only fitment issue I had was trying to lower it into the truck with such a long drive train behind it, and such a deep oil pan. It holds 10 quarts, so the pan on it is very deep, and was hard to slip past the ...
