Re: New restoration thread
Going to try to get going on the M again now that things are getting back to normal (if there truly is such a thing). I have added several pictures to my restoration album. They are dated in order of what was done. If anyone needs any pictures of anything while I have it broke down let me know. The ...

Sent you one too, Bill. I checked and don't have either one of the books/manuals pictured. Thanks

Re: Did All M's Come With Jerry Can Mount??
Thanks Bert. If it would not be too much trouble to measure the angles I would appreciate it.

Re: For Sale
Bill,
I have 2 complete sets but have never been able to locate the manuals. Is there anyway you could scan those and post them or make a copy and I could pay you for them?
Thanks in advance.

Re: Did All M's Come With Jerry Can Mount??
Can anyone list the measurements of the brackets the support the Jerry can mount? I just finished (about 95%) the battery box lid and it turned out quite nice. Was going to try my hand at the brackets also.

Re: Unpainted Bolts when Restoring?
One concern I would have on unpainted bolts is they will eventually rust and the rust will spread. I will be painting mine.

Re: Bed Box Issue
I just reassembled mine after painting and my gussetts were true. Pretty rusty and had to drill out 3 sheared off bolts and retap but were solid. Very heavy coats of rusty metal primer prior to putting back in. No pics entered yet. Maybe tomorrow.

Re: Thank you and Paint issues
Thanks Charles. I am using Gillispie and V, M, &P Naptha is what is called for. Is this the reducer you are talking about? Sorry, but I am immensely ignorant of painting and it's associated terms.

Re: Thank you and Paint issues
Thanks Charles. You are a wealth of information. Think I will just put it back together and see how it looks. I will for sure take more time on the cab. That way if I have to redo it, it will only be the bed sides. One other thing. If I chose to apply a final coat once the bed is assembled, will I h...

Re: Thank you and Paint issues
After getting home the color actually looks good. My only regret now is not taking more time sanding the prior coats of paint. Every imperfection shows. I plan on reassembling the bed and maybe doing a little touch up work to diminish this some. I found a couple of spots that are a little thin, but ...

Re: Untimely passing of my daughter
Thanks to all here that posted comments. Yesterday it was a week. Hard to believe. Things have been going quite well considering. This is my first day back to work. I plan on sending each of you a PM when I can. Once again, thanks to all of you and maybe I can get started on the M again. May be some...

Untimely passing of my daughter
It is with deep regret that I report the untimely passing of my 14 year old daughter Veronica from complications due to a drowning on June 24th, 2001. After multiple surgeries to correct the damage wrecked on her body from the severe brain damage she suffered after her brain unexpectedly swelled, sh...

Re: Bed Box Sides?
3M makes the stuff but I am at work and don't recall the name of it. I was told in an earlier post that this was frequently used for most metal on metal connections. It 's purpose, if I recall, was to prevent moisture getting in between the parts and setting up rust.

Re: Bed Paint & Pictures.
Tim,
I am finally back up on the site. Hope you and Lori are doing well. Did you use Gillispie by any chance and if so, did you use a reducer or hardener? I can't seem to find any references on what to use and I am ready to paint my bed.
