M37B1 passenger taillight & blackout light.

Gentlemen, Can somebody please supply detailed pictures of the M37B1 passenger side brake light and blackout light mounting configuration. I want to upgrade my stock M37 brake light/blackout marker to a safer dual stop light version like that of the M37B1 without losing the blackout marker. I have a...

Re: Winch cable size and length?

The original “from the factory” cable was 7/16” diameter X 150’ feet. Looks like that was changed in the late 1950's to ½” diameter. There are two different sources from PM Monthly that show the changes. 1st source – PM Monthly 1958, #65, pg. 37 2nd source – PM Monthly 1963, #127, pg. 17 http://i64....

M37 video interview - Sept. 2018

Sorry that this video is a couple months late but I’ve had so much going on with family and work that I just haven’t had time to get it posted. The attached Youtube link is for a video that was taken back in September at an event put on by the local Korean population to honor the Korean war vets. I ...

Morgan,

Nice find. Looks like the site has been updated quite a bit since I initially found the picture, a lot has been added.

Re: Oil Filtration:Chaos and Answers

Elwood,

Where is the Spool Valve located and how is it checked?

I've been all through my engine (short of a rebuild) and I don't remember seeing any valves in or around the oil filter??

Re: M37 Seabees Picture

Do you have a way of contacting George to see if it is him? I don't know George but that would be really interesting if it is him, maybe he can give some in-site into the truck/markings.

Re: M37 Seabees Picture

k8icu,

Most of the reference pictures I've collected are pulled from vet and unit websites. I don't remember where this one came from but when I found it I labeled and filed it in the Vietnam section, I doubt I would have done that if it was a recent picture from a salvage yard.

Re: M37 Seabees Picture

DCook, I finally had some time to go through my picture library and of the 1000+ M37 pictures there were only 2 showing any definite markings indicating Navy ownership. The first is the SeaBees M37 (unknown location) picture that you asked for and the second is just Navy marked (Vietnam). I hope the...

Re: Lube List

Some questions: What's a good source for GL-4? I can't seem to find it at any of the big auto fluid retailers. Who carries the Redline products? What brand names still have a high zinc content, where are they available? I live in Minneapolis and have a hard time finding specialty oils like what the ...

Re: M37 and M60 - Courtship and Mating

I posted several pictures of various fabricated weapons mounts a while back, see the link.

Looks like there wasn't any prescribed method, they just went with what worked for them at the time.

I have a spare speaker for the PRC- 25/77 if you're interested. PM me for details, I'm sure we can work something out.

Re: Jump Seats in '54s

Mike,

Mine is a 54 (delivered 3/2/54) and it doesn't have the jump seat or the hole locations to mount one.

My frame number is 80260628, what's yours?

Re: OD Canvas

carolinamv,

Where can you get the can of Weather Master you have pictured? Who makes it? And most important, does it have the sweet aroma of military canvas once it's applied?

Also, can you provide a better picture of the can?

Thanks

Re: Radiator/Shroud Differences

Bill, I'll back up what Elwood said. I have the 100 amp charging system on my truck and the radiator shroud was field modified by cutting off the lower lip that enclosed the fan making more room for the belts. I can't think of any reason to alter the shroud as nothing else can really go into that sp...
