Re: dark green canadian

Robyn, Looks great. Its nice to see them getting out and being appreciated by others. Mine is still trapped in the shop behind my current Case 580CK overhaul project, which is now running 6 months, rather over what I intended. Maybe I'll have mine out for our 150th Canada Day, next year.

Re: Anyone put a camper on an M37?

Jim, for comparison in weight, I have a 2014 Palomino pop up truck camper on a 3/4 ton GMC Sierra. It is just a bit longer than the 8 ft box and weighs in at 1600lbs. The design will fit a short box 1/2 ton but I already had the truck. We have pressure water, hot water heater, furnace, electric jack...

Re: Anyone put a camper on an M37?

Jim is on the right track in building something made to fit the M37. There aren't any commercial units that would work without major structural modifications and if you know how campers and trailers are slapped together these days, most wouldn't hold up to modifications. Box width, distance between ...

Re: Anyone put a camper on an M37?

Jim, that's a cool model and pretty handy to use for your camper mock ups. On the side mounted spare, the other military option to mount on the door is a pain, with unlatching the tire carrier and then opening the door. I think a side mount further back would seriously restrict your rear vision. A p...

cowboy, Welcome aboard. Your truck looks like a great place to start and will give you hours of fun and entertainment while working on it. Many on here have been around since before this current forum and were members of the now defunct BigE forum way back. There aren't many questions that haven't a...

Re: My new/old m37 is just about there

Point, Great results for your efforts. In a few short months, you have done more than some of us have in many years. Now that you're mobile, you can get with the rest of the Western Command guys when they do road trips and get togethers to show off your work and make some connections. All you need n...

Re: Front Propeller Shaft Removal

Before you commit to having it straightened, you might want to consider a replacement. I have contact information for a fellow in New Brunswick that has a lot of M37CDN bits and pieces. You are a lot closer than me for shipping, so it would be worth checking it out. I'll PM you his information, as I...

Re: i can't take it. I'm going 12 volt...

A proper 24V system is superior to the 12V anytime. But, the harness after 50yrs likely needs replacing. If you go through the whole electrical system, and fix whatever is wrong, you will not have any further issues. Patching it up will just lead to frustration. I have an M37 that I bought from the ...

Re: Anyone put a camper on an M37?

Jim, That looks pretty nice. It would be interesting to see it mocked up on an M37 if you have software to do that. I have a friend who uses a comm shelter on his but it not exactly comfortable since its quite small. Something to get out of the rain with anyway. From my research when buying my pop u...

Re: Anyone put a camper on an M37?

Many years ago, there was an older fellow in Victoria, B.C. that had a U-bilt plywood camper on his M37. His was set up for hunting but I never was able to see what he had inside. Likely simple but practical. I think if you could overcome the issues of relatively small box size, it would be a fun un...

Re: Seals

DC Trucks has the seals, bearings and other parts if you need them. He also has them on Ebay if you look. The pinion seal can be an issue if they are leather. You will want to check if you need to sleeve them to get a good seal. Charles Talbert has posted some good info on both the pinion seal and t...

Jim, I can't promise that I'll bring the M37CDN, but I will try to look you up next time we decide to take the ferry down from Sidney. Its always good to meet some others with similar interests.
