Thanks.

Re: engine dies after 3 min
I did a vacuum check today and it was a steady 15 psi. What is the standard pressure I should be getting, anyone know? 17-21 inches of mercury is a standard reading. Your reading of 15 (and I'm hoping you meant to say inches instead of psi) means you're either a couple thousand feet above sea level...

Re: engine dies after 3 min
I agree with much of what ez8 says except that air is NOT fuel! I suppose I should re-phrase that to say Air is a part of fuel. I think we agree other than the semantics. Moving on, ? I'm almost certain its something with the carb because I put another rebuilt one from a friend of mine on there and...

Re: engine dies after 3 min
Before you rebuilt the carb, had you been working on anything else? That's where I'd start. If not, the engine needs spark, fuel, compression to run. If you've got spark and compression (since the engine was running before this), your fuel is off and the vacuum leak is low risk area to investigate (...

Re: driveshaft u joints?
Unfortunately, small parts like this are not made in the US anymore. The automotive supply chain doesn't work like that these days. Depending on how you feel about NAFTA you may have to settle for something "Made in North America" (Mexico). If you do find something made in the US, let us k...

Re: Lube List
I want to thank you all for your input. I decided to go with: Transmission / Transfer case: Redline MTL Differentials: Synthetic 75w-90 Now Engine oil...I've flipped and flopped on using the VR-1 because the "street legal" version, while containing enough ZDDP, is a detergent oil. The &quo...

Is there any consensus on what modern lubricants are preferred for the M37? Engine Steering Box Front and Rear Differentials Transmission Transfer Case My current plan is to use Valvoline VR-1 30W for the engine, 75W-90 for the diffs, and GL-4 for the Transmission and Transfer case. There was a good...

Fuel Pickup Replacement
Hello all, new to the board and to the M37 (I do have a Willys MB, though!) I'm in the process of getting a 1963 M37 running that has set for a few years and of course the fuel system is a mess. My question is: Can the fuel pick up be replaced with something else? It seems like I could just drop a f...
