It is alive! drove it a couple of miles, nothing fell off- or drained out! everything seems well so far, having some TC shifter issues-probably adjustment issues.

I reinforced mine with 1/4" plate on the inside for strength (it comes with additional reinforcement in this area from the factory already).

Diameter of the pitman arm ball?

Does anyone know the diameter of the pitman arm ball? The drag link arm balls are 1.2", The pitman arm ball seems to be smaller from memory. I am looking for a replacement ball stud to put in a replacement pitman arm(that uses the ball stud type). Can't find any that are 1.2".

Wow, for that kind of money you could buy your own sandblaster (a good one!), and hire someone to run it.
I bought a harbor freight blaster (about $150) and blasted mine myself- not fast, but got it done.

Those 7/16" washers on the dash...are they split lock washers or something else? I'm still figuring out what to do now that the periphery washers are unobtainium. Those are thick grade 8 flat washers. I didn't use split lockwashers, I relied on locknuts and locktite where necessary. I used a f...

Re: locking door handles?

Interesting you ask that. A friend and I have been trying to figure this out. We got some handles that looked like the ones from David Ahl's book. They came off of e-pay. I have not gotten to working on my doors yet but his truck is finished. The handles from e-pay, the spacing of the holes was not...

Are these available anymore? I know Piedmont Equip. had them (and a lot of other cool stuff), but they are gone. Anyone know of another source for these?

What seals did you use? Did you use a ready sleeve(if necessary)? There are basicly two things that lend to leaks, bad sealing surface on the yoke, or bad seal- you should be using new design seals, not the old leather ones.
