Hal my guess is that most don't have heated garages to work on the trucks year round, plus with the holidays everyone is stretched pretty thin.

US recommended torque specs are:

3/8" Coarse thread grade 5 is: 23 lb-ft
3/8" Fine thread Grade 5 is: 26 lb-ft
3/8" Course thread Grade 8 is 33 lb-ft
3/8" Fine thread Grade 8 is 37 lb-ft

We've only had a couple of minor dustings of snow here, yesterday they forecast 4-5 inches but we got just shy of 2 inches and then the rain started.
