Re: Military Vehicles Magazine
I agree, the new magazine is kinda trashy. like others, I have no interest in collecting, and my vintage vehicle is a now restored M37, and in the about 8 years I have owned and restored my truck, I don't think I ever actually used any of their articles. So all the jeep adds are not useful to me. I ...

Re: Original Brake Lines With Funk ??
If you make your own lines, FedHill has what you need, and you can rent a pro-grade flaring tool. I bought some of the necessary specialty tools for tubing from I think Jegs or Summit. If you decide to make your own lines, I can give you some suggestions on how to do it with great results and minima...

Re: My 1952 Dodge M37 re-building process
After several methods of getting fuel from the tank to my engine, I finally settle on this, a 24 V (similar are avail in 12 V) Facet low pressure fuel pump, put in the red valve so I can shut off the fuel line when I tinker with some part of it. I run one wire to the pump, pumps as soon as my engine...

Re: Leaking antifreeze
a few months ago, had a similar leak on my carefully rebuilt engine. What I did was to remove the "elbow", and flatten the flange surfaces with a stone, removing any tiny burrs hindering a good seal to the cylinder head. Then very very carefully aligned the thermostat and gasket, with a ti...

Re: Specs for Oil filter hoses
I can't contribute to the length of your oil lines, and hopefully someone else will be along to suggest a solution to your problem. But I made up a lot of my own brake and vent and other lines for my own M37's restoration, using a pro grade flare tool system. Perhaps if there is no easy remedy, you ...

Re: Gear Oil Specs
not long ago, spoke with Charles T. up a his shop, and he suggested that while he has used other trans lubricants, he believes this one is really a good choice. It is what I recently filled my transmission with. Got it via I think Amazon or Target as I recall. My transmission has always shifted with...

Re: New to me '52 M37
as your truck journey continues, you are going to find that there will always be some troublesome, often unexpected encounters, which can greatly hinder the accomplishment of your task. These vintage stalwarts can give great enjoyment and service, but like other old things and people, they can be or...

Re: Aerovoe Paint - fading?
My son as satin black Mercedes, and uses some special "wax" to protect the finish, but not add any shine or gloss to his car's finish. One possible caution to a plan to do something similar to your truck, is that it may make it impossible to ever repaint it. Like using a pro grade sealant ...

Re: Aerovoe Paint - fading?
I painted my '37 with the semi gloss Gillespie paint, thinned with Xyline, and after sitting in the SC sun for about four years, it is a bit faded. Now it is under cover at our Heritage Foundation's hanger at the local airport. Canvas fades too. Sometimes I spot spray a place with a little rust show...

Re: Oil pump leak
good advice, and something I try to do to make metal meeting surfaces as "flat" at possible is to remove high spots with a diamond stone. Sometimes an imperceptible "nick" will hinder a full contact surface. Easy to find this possibility with a diamond stone. Hal

Re: RICK LARSEN'S MILITARY STENCILS
rick, I can't imagine how painful and lasting your circumstances have been for you. I have used your stencil's when my son and I painted my M37 a few years ago, and fretted that there was no way I could re-paint it without using your stencil kits again. I and many others hope that life can become be...
