Re: Replacement glass

Any glass place should be able to cut what you need as long as you have the frames they go in.
I went to the local autoglass shop and had them cut panes for my Willys no problem.
Call around your area and I'm sure you'll find something.

Re: Forum open to everybody

So what? Ours is a hobby of shrinking members and we should welcome anyone who wants to come in freely. As long as the forums aren't being crudded up with spam what's the harm of being as open as we are? Plenty of other MV sites are like that. G503, Steel Soldiers, M715zone... If the info you have o...

Re: It followed me home...

There's nothing wrong with that truck! A lick of paint, a new tire we're good to go!

Too bad about the truck. She'll make a good donor for some other projects out there, no doubt. At least you have the space to provide a "foster home" for it so it doesn't go to scrap.

Mercy! Long-time readers of G741 will know all about this truck and Hal's adventures with it.
Hopefully your new abode will provide some of your other hobbies to continue!

Re: Big Green to the rescue!

Today was another work day with the truck. I took it out to my buddy's place because he had cut down some more trees and I burn wood in the winter. His property is all woods and hilly with nice sandy soil; good for really digging in and getting your grip. The utility of this truck always surprises m...

Welcome.

I'd love to hear more stories about your time around these trucks, or even just doing construction work in the 70's.

Re: Another Expensive NDT

Between lack of good coils, discontinued spark plugs, and tires more expensive than civilian truck tires, the future is closing in on our hobby. Hey! No defeatism here, soldier! Commodities go up and down in pricing all the time. Surely you're old enough to remember the 1970's stagflation, the 1980...

Re: Big Green to the rescue!

Part of the deal of buying this truck was to use it around "the farm." I've used it to haul mulch, wood for burning, and pull up stumps and bushes. I've even had other people want me to come over and pull things around for them. So far my most ambitious project was hauling wood out of a fr...

Big Green to the rescue!

A few years ago INDOT cut down a tree along the county road near my house. It was a big, maple that was beginning to hollow out and die. When these trees start to get hollow, they get dangerous so they cut it down to keep it from falling over onto the road or, God forbid, a person. I was working out...

It’s flared on one end like a brake line, no flare other end.
I'm pretty sure this is for the vent line on the fuel tank. This screws into the fuel tank and then a rubber hose runs from the unflared in up to the filler neck.

Re: autolite 2243 spark plugs

unless you already have them or find someone who is willing to part with them, you don't. And if you do find them on ebay or someplace else, the market premiums is astronomical. Autolite quit making these sparkplugs several years ago so they are not available for new purchase. However, do not despai...

Sure, we can give it a listen.

In the future, you'll want to post this kind of thread to the technical section, as well. Maybe one of the mods can move it there for you. You'll get more responses.

Re: M37 Starting

Not from my experience. The starter should be lively, just like on your daily driver. Either you've got low batteries which might indicate an electrical issue (e.g. parasitic drain, bad ground, generator inop and not charging batteries) or your starter is going which would require a rebuild. Give yo...
