Re: Transmission/Clutch Noises?
Thanks Charles. Yes, I think it needs to be rebuilt for peace of mind and safety's sake. I really didn't want to have to do it but it is the prudent thing to do.
Thanks for your expertise.

Re: Transmission/Clutch Noises?

I could rotate the shafts by hand and did not feel any roughness. The shift tower is NOS (civilian) and was function tested at VPW before shipping. After...

Re: leaving your truck outside
Is it a problem of height/width or both? If height, can you air down the tires to make it fit?

Transmission/Clutch Noises?
Hey all, I just swapped an M37 NP420 transmission into my 1955 Civilian Power Wagon. Swapped it for the original crash box tranny. Anyway, I have some noises that I didn't have before the swap. When I push the clutch in and start the truck (in neutral), everything is as it should be,that is, normal ...

I had some many years ago and never took them in snow and ice for were quiet on highway and excellent offroad in the the mounta...

Re: STA NDT vs STA Super Lugs vs Yokahama Geolanders
I've got the Yellow Sea tires also and like them. I too don't have any mileage on them yet either but they are a nice tire. I spoke with Chris about doing a run of the 11.00r16 tires but he said a run of 1000 tires would be the minimum to justify the mold cost. So, sadly I don't see that happening. ...

Re: M101A1 trailer rims
Well, that is why the made the change, to put a more common rim with surge brakes. If you want to match the M37 you'll have to go with the M101A1. You can always fab up some brakes for it, probably won't be easy or inexpensive. Your choice.

Re: I am so stumped on this truck. (Help!)
I believe timing should be set at 4 degrees before TDC. Not sure if that will make a difference in your case? Also, maybe the choke is not closing all the way?
