Re: Broken copper brake line with flare? Where to get it?

is it a copper line? copper nickel is ok but copper is technically illegal on brake systems. basically the only time copper should be used in any automotive application is vacuum lines. Steel or copper-nickel only. its going to stop alot better with all 4 wheels working!

Re: Interest in centered rear axle housings

Are the old centered axles hard to get now? I have read several articles about swapping the axle assembly from an older centered axle truck. 850 seems to be a reasonable price for the work, I would like to see what a finished housing would look like. the centered housings are not too hard to find b...

Re: Interest in centered rear axle housings

no one? we have figured price will be around 850 exchange for the kit. that would be with NOS WW2 axle shafts. We might offer an custom axle for those with ARB where fine spline carrier can be put in. that would cost a bit more We figure the price has to be the same or less than switching to a diffe...

Re: Interest in centered rear axle housings

Andy, I could see why he wants to move it to the other side to reduce noise a bit but that wont strengthen the axles. we will be modifying M37 axle housings. it will be an exchange deal should we move forward.

Interest in centered rear axle housings

I don't work in the old car and truck world full time anymore but my friend does and he is tooling up to make axle housing modifications. We discussed tooling up to center M37 housings. We would provide a centered housing, Tcase yoke, and axles, gaskets etc. I offroaded WC 3/4 ton Dodges for a few d...

Re: Body Mounting to Frame Question

yes for flex. these frames are designed to flex. kind of like very large trucks. stiff suspension with frame that allows for articulation. modern pickups are the other way. mushy suspension and stiff frame. both designs have pros and cons.

the water pump for those fits all the mopar fatheads from the 30s till end of production. there was another type of later water pump but it used the same bolt pattern. the 23 inch flathead 6 mopar was the small block chevy of the era. raced widely and for a long time had more HP than the chev OHV an...

Re: Inline Fuel Filter / Gas Filter Replacement

In the past I have routinely used several clear plastic filters on my M37’s. The last M37 had a canister filter from the tank to the pump. Another clear filter before the pump and still another clear filter between the pump and the carb. These clear filters are CHEAP. Even with the fuel tank chemic...

Re: Swap to an NP205

I don't think you will see that mod because the NP 200 is an excellent tcase that never breaks and the out put for M37 is offset for the rear axle. the 205 doesn't have the offset output. IMO its not worth the work. Not an upgrade. they are almost exactly the same design except the 200 has no wimpy ...

Re: Summer Winter Baffle on Exhaust Manifold

it might be able to be done but not worth it. your camera idea is where i would start. if you have no leaks between intake and exhaust its best to keep them together. they rarely leak there.
