Re: Battery Box setup
I was looking for photos I might have. Seems I didn't take any of the bottom of the box. The box has holes it in to allow it to be bolted to the body. Other than that there are holes to bolt the battery tray to the box. Can't remember the holes might be for both. Tray: https://www.worthpoint....

Re: Wire Routing / Mounting Hardware / Clips / etc. ???
I was in the same situation. Looking through the manuals you can eventually piece together how the wiring routes and what holds it down or to the frame. The pictures of thinks like the axle chapter shows part of the frame. Other chapters have photos of other things but in the background show the wir...

Re: M37 Horn Button
I took pictures of how things should be on the horn wire. When I talked to John, he gave me the rundown on what order things go. In the picture where the lock washer is on the metal tip of the wire, I could not find the one that John sent. I know I got it because I saw it in the kit. But the way my ...

Re: M37 Horn Button
John at Midwest said to give him a call. He was very helpful. I understand what's going on now and will take photos. When the parts come out of the box everything is already on the wire that is needed. Only the split black plastic piece and the spring retainer push on washer is not on the wire. So t...

M37 Horn Button
What am I doing wrong with my horn button? The old horn pieces were broken. I got a new kit for the horn button. I put the steering wheel over the steering shaft, then the metal horn finger thing, then the nut and tightened it all up. When I put the wire in place I have the split plastic holder down...

Re: M37 with Chevy 350 questions
Hi, 'Is this a bad sign of an incomplete conversion.' It's hard to tell based on your description. Do you have any photos? Most conversions are custom type work and each one might have to be worked on differently. Are the truck beds easy to find? Most are not in very good shape unless they are on a ...

Re: Valve Seat Angles
That's interesting. I went with the 60, 45, 30deg. I wonder why they chose 20 deg. I don't see that gaining more performance. As long as the seat width is good the valves will not tell the difference. Doing the 60 degree grind was interesting as down in the throat of the intake and exhaust the openi...

Re: SC M37
Yeah that Tach is for a 6cly boat engine. It barely fits there. It's not connected yet but I plan on maybe drilling a small wire sized hole in the test cap of the distributor cap, feeding it through and connecting it to one of the terminals.

Not a lot of pictures from the last two months. I have been running the wiring and connecting up items. Redid the Voltage Regulator: http://www.surfacezero.com/g503/data/3568/Reg.jpeg Sandblasted and painted the Glove Box http://www.surfacezero.com/g503/data/3568/Glove.jpeg I got those dreaded draft...

Re: winch cable
I don't see why you can't try Swaged Wire Core Rope. I poked around on the subject: - The advantages of a swaged wire rope are that they are more resistant to wear, have better crushing resistance, and high strength compared to a round strand wire rope of equal diameter and classification. - However...

The glove box plates use rivets - Steel Tubular - 9/64 X 1/4, 15/64 Head - Property Plate - Resp Agency Plate - Weight and Dim Plate. The other plates use No. 6 screws - Pan Head - 3/8in. Make sure you clean out the holes from paint before you put the screws in. Not all the plates line up with the h...

Re: MasterPro GL 4 Gear Oil
I use the - Lucas Synthetic 50 WT Transmission Oil.
I had Oriellys order it to come to their store. Took maybe two days. But that was before the supply chain crisis.

Re: Draft Pads
Charles was right as usual about the felt pads holding wetness. So, last evening I decided to try the one remaining original brake/clutch draft pad I have. (I have some more on the way.) Heated water to boiling and put the rubber pad in. I actually left it in the boiling water for 15 minutes while I...
