M-37 parts in Lakeowod colorado

Periodically there is a gentleman who sells parts on E-bay from Lakewood Colorado. Does anybody on this forum happen to know who he is or how to reach him? I will be in the Lakewood area soon and he has some parts I'm interested in. Thanks for your help in advance.

LU-4 winch

I googled LU-4 and found this website. Not a technical manual but it does include a nice exploded view of the winch assembly. Also several helpful pictures. I just rebuilt mine with all new bushings bearing and seals last week and this site was helpfull. imageevent.com/moosecreekmaple/lu4winch

I can assure you neither "fooling" around or time is an issue.

LU-4 winch housing spacing plate.

Well men the spacing plate on my winch is in bad shape. Rather than buying one I'd like to build a new one. Does anyone have the correct bolt center to center dimensions? My old one is so bent up I don't trust any measurments off of it. I want to get it right becuase that measurment is critical. Tha...

Exhuast valve seats.

Are the original exhuast valve seats hard enough for modern gasoline? The valve seats in my engine are in great shape I just want to know if they are going to continue being OK. Also the engine and clutch manual refers to a valve seat removal tool which I'm sure has not been available for a long tim...

Charles Thanks for the info. As always very helpful. The more I think about it the more tempting this swap is to me.

251 spifire

As fate would have it a 251 complete clutch transmission and P.T.O. were given to me ! I know Canadian M37s came with 251's. How hard would it be to stuff it in an American 1951 M37? I took rough measurements and it seems workable pretty easily. Also how much more HP is a 251 vs 230? Will a 24V dist...

1/4" plug in the cylinder head

I'm in the process of rebuilding my M-37s engine and noticed today there is a small hole going all the way through the head with a 1/4" plug on top of the head above #6 cylinder. My buddies 58' civilian has the same thing. Part of the casting Process maybe ?

Thanks for the replies. My machinist also suggested sleeving the cylinders even though they would have all cleared at .030 over. I think the extra cost is well worth the reliabilty from it. thanks again.

Time to rebuild the 'ol 230

Gearing up to rebuild my trucks engine and I remember some time ago on this forum a mention of cast iron cylinder sleeves being a good idea. Question is do you only use these sleeves if the cylinders are extremly wore out or is there another good reason to use them? Also how much is too much to remo...
