Re: stalling out--help needed
Do you have the original pick up on the fuel line in the tank? The ethanol killed my first one and the NOS replacement. It would partially clog but if left to sit, would unclog enough to run fine again for a while. I took it off in favor of in-line filters I can monitor better. Could also be the fue...

For Sale Take Out Radiator
This is the radiator I took out of my 53 M37. The reason was that it had two little weeps and I'm a bit of a perfectionist. I'm not an expert by any means, so I'll just tell you what I know, shouldn't take long! The first weep is around the drain-cock, not sure if it is at the threads or where the a...

Did you try Bob Stahl in MA? I'm sure he's got a take-outs lying around.

Re: 1953 M37 Vietnam Guntruck
Bump. Still for sale, new civie fuel pump added since last update. Runs strong, starts better than it ever did! Will also sell as a stock M-37 without gunbox and GT related stuff. Have troops seats (need refinishing) including the small jump seat. Have cargo bows, no cargo canvas except front. Have ...

Re: Pinion Seal Recommendation
I have had Charles pinion seal kit in my truck for over a year. So far so good. I went the NOS route first, like the OP soaked the seal and burnished the leather with a brass rod and I installed a speedi-sleeve on the companion flange. It lasted all of 200 miles, and when it let go, it seemed worse ...

Re: Gas in Oil
Problem appears to be resolved with the replacement of the fuel pump. I've made a couple of runs now and things seem to be back to normal.

Re: Gas in Oil
I haven't spoken to Charles. I pulled the pump yesterday and I think I have the proverbial smoking gun. In the recessed area below the lever, inside the pump casting, where there should be oil there was mostly gas with a touch of oil. I was careful removing the pump to keep it upright and there is n...

Re: Gas in Oil
I spoke with Bob Stahl this afternoon, and we both agree that it really does sound like the fuel pump. The only other way to get gas in the crankcase is past the rings and while it does appear possible that too much choke during start-up can cause this, it doesn't explain the apparent quantity of ga...

Gas in Oil- Resolved
About a month ago, I tried to start the truck. It would crank, but not fire. I looked at the in-line fuel filter between the pump and the carb and it was dry, even after several bouts of cranking. I pulled the dipstick and thought I smelled gas in the engine oil. I figured the pump let go, so I put ...

M37 Scale Model
There may be a 1/35 resin model kit of the M-37 coming out in the next few months. I've been working with a guy who has been producing some very nice looking resin detail parts and through a modeller's forum, asked me to supply some dimensions of the real thing. The last I heard, he was hoping for a...
