A car salesman once told me that if he's upset over a deal, and so is the customer, then its a fair deal. Money can be thrown away at both ends of the spectrum. Whether in the home garage, or a business, if a tool or machine can't pay for itself, then its too over priced. I wouldn't go out an buy a ...

Interesting... Was a sharp looking IH untill the awful stainless fender flares. Axles are interesting, but I question his driving style. We've got guys up here regularly running 1000hp and 1500lbs of torque through thier AAM rear diffs and not breaking them - Mostly towing mind you, but still. Plus ...

The typical location is about half way between the steering gear box and the idler arm bracket. Charles, would it be stamped into the verticle face of the frame for easy access, or onto the hozontal top of the frame rail? It's in the web of the rail, (the vertical surface), the top and bottom are t...

Just as an FYI - most evergreens (conifers) don't root very deep into the ground. This is why they blow over fairly easily in a wind storm. If the tree is rooted in sand, (which they like) it will topple over almost as easily as a domino. Leafy trees (like birch) have roots that penetrate deep into ...

Ray, why did you take the front brace out instead of reshaping the oilpan? Just asking, not being critical. Josh The mods to the front brace are to accomodate the swing of the draglink when I put the crossover steering in. The oilpan should clear just fine as its a rear sump unit. Even if given a c...

A 2wd NP435 (or one of its variants), BWT18, or SM465 will all work fine with a V8 of your choice and mate up to the stock tcase with little trouble. The length is just fine on any of these transmissions. Dodge V8 - NP435 or variant GM V8 - SM465 Ford V8 - NP435, T18 All these are 4spd transmissions...

I found this number just behind the bolts for the frame extensions on my left rail. Is this the vin? It is ahead of the steering swing arm, farther forward than Charles has indicated. Is this a different number? http://i54.photobucket.com/albums/g101/MasterYota/M37%20Build-up/53M37Buildup-Dec2009e00...

The Automatic has been done with other engines, but you will need a 2wd version. The version that you have will not support just a driveshaft in place of the tcase. There is no way to seal the end of the transmission and keep oil in it. That is what the transfer case does (or more specifically - the...

Got some work done. The crossmember mods are complete and the new shaved unit is back in the truck. Also managed to get a good start on the driver's side boxing of the frame rail. I plated the crossmember in again using 3/16's plate, formed from 3 separate pieces and fully welded. I replaced the riv...
