some of the ones in the generator trailers are plastic i have two of them

i have done this ..i had the numder six rod bearing go out and had the crank redone..the piston will drop enough to get the pin out and put the new rod in but it will not come all the way out..it is a pain in the ass but can be done..As far as compression just pull the spark plugs out

i can not belive that someone has not went out and cut a cap to look at it or someone that has more knowlage than me (that does not take much)..there has to be curiousity out there as to what is inside

it is not one peice it has a peice of porceline in between with little metal caps on each end..it reads anywhere from 1500 to 3200 ohms on these reds cap anyway..cut a old one and you will see what i'am talking about..i cut a ford cap and a hei cap and they are both solid..maybe they put this in the...

has anyone ever cut a cap apart?what is the ohms of the cap between the rotar contact and where the plug wire goes?

i have measured the caps with callipers all the same..i do have the rubber seals in..it has done this on three different trucks..the two i have and a friends truck all with the same outcome..the rebuild came out of a known military parts supplier so i dought it was modified out of spec but maybe..It...

so what is the fix ? if they are different isn't there a standard they follow..they all look the same..The one in the truck is black and the ones i have that are new are red..I actually got a rebuild distributor and it had one of the red caps in it and would not work so i put the black one in and it...

well i have bought three new caps and they will not fire when i put the in my truck..I have the old one in there now which has a crack in it and it runs fine.Has anyone else had this problem..Am i m issing something here i'am all ears for some input

looking for a good useable crank for a 37 ..my truck seemed to eat no 6 rod bearing

i think i would total it just for the ins ..If something happens to the truck and it is not ins for enough to cover it you will be pissed ..The ins company just look at them as a old truck but that is just my opinion..I have mine put as 10,000 value and it is not restored but complete and not rusted...

who sells a good cap? I have two black caps from a supplier and both of them will not fire..I put the old cracked one back in and it runs good..
