I'm headed up in the morning. I'll try to make it there on Saturday, on time. I'd made it last year but by time I remembered to look at the time, it was too late.
See ya'll there.

T245 vs T245A Motor
Hey guys, My truck has a motor marked T245A-... which I thought nothing of until recently when I got a rebuild core and it is stamped T245. So, my question is what is the difference and when did they start using the 'A engines? I looked through the manuals but did find anything. The T245A has a 67 o...

That's good info. I used the info to rebuild an earlier model switch and it still works perfect years later.

Re: Inside rear view mirror
I've not seen the MWO for it either and would certainly like to see it too. In the 1955 ORD 9 and 1957 ORD 8 manuals, there is an interior rear view mirror listed. I've seen a photo in the 1950 TM 9-840 which looks like an open cab WC series mirror. So, it seems there was an "optional" mir...

Re: original color of frame?
Murf, Were these the WWII era WCs or the M37s? I remember a Discovery channel show years back that showed them doing that to WWII WC trucks and I've seen still photos of the same. I've not seen any of that with the M37s. Some time back, Lifer had some info from the Dodge historians that said they ro...

Re: Tailgate Chain Covers ?
The FSN (2540-700-5441) matches the PN (7005441) in the '55 dated ORD 9 TM. It looks like the rubber may be the earlier, possibly original, cover. Glancing through the TMs doesn't help. The photos show a slender sleeve on the tailgate chains but the detail isn't enough to make out whether canvas or ...

Re: Mirror Info Needed
Bob, Glancing through the operator's TMs, the mirror mounting stud is center of the back, the back looks smooth but the detail is hard to make out near the mounting stud so there may or may not be a tensioning screw(s). The '57 dated ORD 8 TM lists it as a 5 1/2" diameter. They were replaced wi...

Re: Master cylinder squirts fluid from top
"hole in the master cylinder screw plug"? The what? I don't have a hole in any of my MC plugs. Actually, aside from the filler plug, I only have the switch at the top rear, the hydraulic line going out the rear to the brake system, and the vent line at the top outside going to the air clea...

Re: where to find inside m37 mirror
I was looking around and found an eBay auction that may have been the original mirror as listed in the 1957 parts manual. The mirror above is the mirror listed as the later replacement mirror, or 3rd model. The eBay auction lists the earlier one as 7" wide whereas the later one is listed as a 6...

Re: where to find inside m37 mirror
I found a couple of photos of what I believe is the correct interior mirror. This is from an ebay auction some time back and the box is marked with the correct FSN and dated 1957 which falls in line with the ORD manuals. There wasn't a mounting bracket included with the auction but I would think, lo...

Re: where to find inside m37 mirror
I don't think I have seen any photos of trucks with an interior mirror yet either. For that matter, even though they were authorized, I've never seen a photo of a truck with the rifle racks in it. I don't know if they would be that much of a hindrance on the windshield. We had them on all our M151s ...

Re: where to find inside m37 mirror
There is a photo of an early M37, probably the Ordnance Dept's prototype, that has what looks like a WC closed cab mirror mounted to the windshield - fig 95 in TM 9-840. Fig 15 of TM 9-8030 shows the windshield folded down and you can see the spot where the same mirror would have been attached. I do...

On page 402 of the '55 edition of TM 9-8030, there is the driver's seat - vinyl bottom and back are shown.

Re: Rust in tool storage box
I used plumber's putty when I put my bed back together. When I took it apart, the caulking I found on mine seemed similar to plumber's putty so I used it when I re-assembled. I've not had any problems with moisture in my tool boxes and my truck sits outside all year round. I drove my truck home in a...
