Re: Drag Link Removal

i can check when I get home. I just made one a few weeks ago, welded a chunk of flat bar to an old socket. Thanks but no need. I made one from a big washer and some bar stock. I can stick two pieces of steel together, just can't sell it. It worked great. Now it's on the shelf never to be used again...

Went the Loctite route. Worked great, the nuts didn't slip.
The stud broke. 😔 Will need to concentrate on that...

Anyway, went to the passenger side. All studs came out.

Re: New to me '52 M37

Thanks Hal. The idea of walking away for a bit is practiced. I'm going back tonight to do the passenger side. The lone stud on the driver's side can wait a bit. Maybe it will get lonely and unscrew itself just to join its buddies in the baggie. I was working on my wife's car once. The bolts on the t...

Front Axle Flange

Putting on locking hubs from MSeriesrebuild. Started on the driver's side and have all but one stud out but that's fighting me. What can one do, or not to do, to back them out? I've tried the two jammed nuts, working the lower one. They just spin. Even heating the stud up a little = spin. Picked up ...

I have no trouble buying GL0.
Thanks. From my reading GL5 is not good.

What about GL1?? NAPA stocks it and it's relatively affordable.

Re: Drag Link Removal

Basically, except the pieces won’t fall out. Put the arms on the bench and note how the springs and plates come out the end of tubes. Thank you. One other question... Anyone know the drag link end plug slot dimensions? Looks like it's "fab a tool" time and typical me I didn't think to mea...

New to me '52 M37

Newbie here. I've always had an itch for a milsup truck. Bounced around between a few: M35, M37, LMTV Finnaly decided if this is going to happen I need to narrow on one. Found a '52 M37 two weeks ago in SC. Looked at it twice. 2nd time it followed me home. Since i don't have enough garage space it l...

Drag Link Removal

New to me '52 M37. So, sorry in advance for all the basic questions...

Anyone have a quick description on how to remove the steering drag links? I suspect the ends need to be disassembled. Remove pin, back out nut, have all pieces drop on floor?
