Re: Nice 1954 M37 For Sale, Lots of extras - Pine, Colorado

Bump ... Still for sale. There's been some interest in a few of the parts (distributor, radio, etc). I'm willing to separate and entertain offers.

Thanks,
Steve

Re: Nice 1954 M37 For Sale, Lots of extras - Pine, Colorado

Steve, Would you be willing to part with the radio separately? Two things I have always wanted in mine for shows and parades were a correct radio and an M14! Sure, I'd be open to that. I also have an M14 (M1A1), but I don't think I can part with that ;) Shoot me an email and let's work out details....

Hi Jay,

We should talk. I'd be willing to sell things separately. Shoot me an email: steve.baumgartner@mail2web.com or call/text: 303.594.5024

Nice 1954 M37 For Sale, Lots of extras - Pine, Colorado

Hi Folks, I used to be an active member on this forum when I first bought my truck several years ago. Unfortunately, it's time to let my M37 go. I've done quite a bit of work to this truck and have several detailed pics and videos of the vehicle. I also have a ton of extras that go with this truck a...

It would be an interesting project to install one, but looks like a lot of work. I think one of the guys on here (SydneyM37?) actually had one on his truck. This page shows the hoses that went through that keyhole knockout, into the cab and then through the floor into the engine compartment: http://...

Tim, That knockout was for the Arctic Powerplant heater kit. It had a shroud around the oil pan and a warming plate under the batteries. Basically the exhaust from the heater warmed the engine oil and coolant circulated through the heater warming the plate under the batteries. Cabell Garbee has pict...

so even with the bushing in front of it the slide hammer did the job?
Yeah, you just have to work your way around the circumference of the seal, sliding the hammer a few times in each spot, but they popped out pretty quick. I just rented one for the day for $15.

You are going to need a slide hammer with a finger-hook type attachment. That's what I used anyway and it made the job really easy. --Steve

Nick,

Try Saturn Surplus. They have the three position heater data plates:

This might be a good reference ... A resto based on an "as delivered" truck. Lots of engine shots:

From the previous post rixm37 mentioned, I found Cabell's comment to be very true: In order to get the "correct" shade of green for a truck used from this period, one would want to specify FS595B 24084 or 34084 (semi-gloss and lusterless, respectively). The current specification FS595B 240...

If you Google "bench bleed master cylinder", you'll find a bunch of sites with pictures like this one: http://www.superchevy.com/technical/chassis/brakes/0509sc_bench/index.html Basically, you want to lock the MC down in vice, fill it with brake fluid and then pump it by hand with a wooden...

Yeah, sounds like your MC is kaput. You can try a rebuild kit if the cylinder walls are not scored and in good shape. Might be best just to go with new to erase any doubt. John at Midwest has both. Be sure to bench bleed the master cylinder before you install it. And yes you'll need to bleed the ent...
