No way a stock M37 weighs 8,000lbs, I can't help what that book may say, what I'm saying is known fact. My assumption (and we know what kind of trouble one get can get into with assumptions...) was that they were referring to the gross weight in that particular publication... Since the rest of the ...

I've been running a Cummins 4BT backed by a ZF S5-42 transmission, 4.89 gears, Michelin 900r16 XZL's, four wheel disc brakes, and lockers front and rear, for years. Pretty much the same combination that I started with in the truck with the exception that I had a Ranger OD sandwiched between the engi...

MV owner vs HOA/Township in Windsor, PA

For those of you who are not on Steelsoldiers who might be interested (and I think any of us who live in an area where a neighbor can complain about our "toys" should be), there is a thread on that site about a MV owner who has been cited for a code violation for parking his M35A2C at his ...

Sept/Oct trailrides in North Carolina

The M715 guys are going to get together in Sept or Oct for a ride at Uwharrie NF. They hope to get a date set in the next few weeks (no later than the end of this month). They'd like to include any of our Power Wagon/M37 guys that would be interested in another ride at Uwharrie since several folks s...

Lifer, Athens sounds good... Clinto (from Steelsoldiers) lives there and not only has a nice shop (hint hint), but he is the organizer of the Steelsoldiers rally in October that is held in that area... There are several folks in that area (ok, the Atlanta-Athens corridor) who have M37 and/or Power W...

Some thoughts on other places to post this request if you have not thought of them already... www.steelsoldiers.com in the transportation section of the forum, seems like a lot of the MV owners on that site have connections with guys running flatbed semi trucks around to move 2.5 and 5 ton trucks ar...

Two other things not mentioned... You can use a higher watage bulb in the holder in order to increase the amount of light available... Not a really good idea of you have the B1 style guage panel with the plastic light covers as they can get too hot, but ok if you are using the earlier style with the...

It's my truck, and the photo is off my website... Not the first time that he has "borrowed" a photo from my site to sell something, not the first person to do it either...
No, he did not ask. No, he is not paying me a royalty.

Thanks for pointing this out.

Do you know the fed spec number for that intermidiate color? You actually can't order paint using the fed spec number that was used back then as it is no longer in use... To quote a bit more from David's article on steelsoldiers (follow the link in my post above, or wait for his upcomming article i...

I purchased several pairs off Amazon this summer at the $60 some price... Brand new, in the box, looks just like the ones I used to get from Fred at Adirondack Parts for $90ish...

Volume and lack of warehousing speaks wonders for something like Amazon at times...

In defense of the guy at your paint place, he most likely mixed you the CORRECT FS595B 24087 that is in his paint computer. It is the current mil-spec... Most likely, the color that you had on the back of your dataplate was the Vietnam era 24087 from FS595A. Snippets from David Doyle's exacting post...

Nick, Without knowing what you have (a photo or a posting of the numbers on the dataplate of the generator or alternator would be nice...): You likely have a unit that was "upgraded" with one of the alternators off a M151 or M35 that is a 60amp 24 volt internally regulated unit. Actual adj...
