I appreciate the correct information on the proper type of oil filter to use. I will switch it out and put in the correct filter, either the WIX, Baldwin or NAPA, but.......I went out and looked on my shelf and found that I purchased a Fram C4 last Fall. I found a cross reference guide that said tha...

Thank you for the information, Charles. The local parts supplier was the one that gave me the 51006 part number. It's worked without a problem for the last few years. I put few miles on the truck and change the oil every year or less. I'll be switching the WIX to the 51100 right away. Would you give...

I'm a bit confused!
I've been using WIX #51006 oil filter.
Should I be using the #51100 oil filter instead?

It appears that they are the same size other than the gasket size is slightly different.

Thanx

I am not one to generally participate in this forum by writing, however, in this case I feel that special note should be made of the wonderful job that Zach & his father, Keith accomplished in the restoration of their M37. This past week, they drove their truck complete with an M101 in tow in th...

That's some great info you guys gave. The photo helps to understand what the end looks like. Does anyone have any photos AND measurements of the actual handle? What size rod is used? Is there any discussion in the manuals of hand cranking? And lastly, can the handle be purchased? Thanks for all of t...

Hand Cranking

Has anyone ever attempted to hand crank their gasoline engine to get it started? I haven't found anything in the manuals discussing hand cranking, so I figure I must have missed it. Anyone know where it is discussed and pictured? I've never seen a handle to turn the engine over with. And my last que...

Well, after reading all of the comments and suggestions I have come to the conclusion that if you own a M37, it will leak, unless you rebuild it properly with new style seals and care. It looks like I’m in the majority of folks that are not too worried with leakage and consider it a means of always ...

Oil leaks

I've had my M37 for over 15 years. During that time it has leaked oil from the engine, transmission, transfer case and front and rear differentials. It’s never gotten worse over the years. My question is does yours leak? I was told by a vendor and a couple other owners that even if I replace gaskets...
