Space Shuttle Tech.

If have it right these old girls were built before the space shuttle and If I recall it had a leak as well. Caused a major problem. Any liquid in a dry world will find a way I always say. Sooner or latter everything will leak a little, I know I am and I am about the same age as my ride.

Now that I think about it you are right. gages are a relativly new invention. I guess they fall into the "idiot proff" era. Now we are comming full circle, I understand that some of the new cars just shut down if there is a problem. I just grew up with a Dad who was always asking " wh...

Thanks Guys

Thanks for all the info. Sounds to me like they must have used all kinds of setup for oil pressure. It would be nice to know the real story. I do know that my truck is a very early 51 model. Other than that I am still confused about what the set up should have been. I just hate running one withour o...

Thanks

Thanks Sid, I think they have the sending units at Vintage, they are in the book at least. I will let you know how I come out. There is a lot of confusion about these gages, 120 VS 60. I keep getting different stories. Talbit said he the 60 was for the Gas engine and the 120 for the Diesel. Anyone o...

Oil Gage more trouble

Does anyone know how to test the sending unit on the M37? The truck came with a 120lb Gauge and I was told this was the wrong one that I should have 60lb. I replaced the gauge with a 60 lb one and it still did not work. I tried to measure the resistance on the sending unit wire and it measured no re...

line us out

Thanks Charles, I knew someone in the know would line out all us newbees. I do not know why my CCKW top did not fit the windshield frame but it just came up about 3 iinches short for sure, perhaps it was not a CCKW top. It did fit the tub around the back but even there my top had a kind of octagon b...

Tops

When I got my m37 it had a top with a oval back window in the bed. When I tried to mount it it was about 3 inches to short to reach the windshield frame. I made a piece by breaking a piece of 14 gauge metal and making an adaptor. It turned out great but I know it is not the right top, it fits around...

Just thought of a related experence. Years ago I worked as a lineman for a telephone company, when a cable got wet in those days it was hard to find the wet spot to fix it, so me and a vet buddy came up with a great solution. Piled the whole back of our truck with bateries wired them up and would ju...
