Re: So now, to the blown head gasket...
The least expensive to the most expensive spark plugs will make no difference in these engines now with unleaded fuels. (When I was an insultant for an OEM running their engine dyno, we could find no repeatable measurable gains from various spark plug offerings. Heat range made more difference. ( we...

The police officer radioed in that an old woman had shot her husband for walking on the freshly mopped floor.
The dispatcher radioed back asking if he had arrested her.
he answered "No, the floor is still wet."

Re: PTO installation
The body and drivetrain manual has it all. It is just gasket shimming, but has to be measured from inside. With the loads that are possible, having it right is important.

Or you could cheat and use an e-clip available from Ace or your local hardware store.

Re: PTO installation
The PTO isn't a bolt and go item. You are going to need to pull the trans So you can easily work on it and set the backlash. The procedure is in the manual. Hopefully, the holes for the lever and latch are on your trans tunnel/floor. If not, you may want to find those parts from a winch truck, too.

If you haven't dismantled yours yet, you could measure the gap.

Re: Electric 24V wiper and fuel pump upgrade
The unit in your link is rain only, also. The units capable of snow and ice are too big and block my vision since they hang down from the frame. Doesn't help that I'm 6'-1". If I needed better wipers, I would go to air motors and put a compressor and tank on the truck. Then I could have air hor...

Re: Electric 24V wiper and fuel pump upgrade
ABLinn sells a 24V wiper kit that fits easily and works better than the vacuum wipers. It is rain rated only. Not snow and ice.

Re: Another Horn Question
No. I have it all buttoned up. It is a c clip that fits on the groove at the end of the wire terminal to keep it from being pushed through the insulator into the steering shaft.

Re: Another Horn Question
I just did the horn wire and button on my truck this morning. (The last inch of old wire on he truck) Mine was a cobble of homemade springs, insulator and ruined aged wire. What I am not seeing in the above pics is the retaining clip in the cable terminal (M in the drawing fig 151 in TM9-8030.) Keep...

NDT lifespan?
What kind of life are you getting out of your NDT's? My truck has Denman tires and they are wearing at an alarming rate. Half the tread gone in 1500 miles. Granted, they have some age and the road surface is extremely hot, but that seems weak. Are the Coker or Speedways better? I wanted to pick up a...

Re: Head lamp question
French used them as headlights in all vehicles. And in an area with fog and mist, they create less glare. I don't like them as I find them to washout contrast for me at night. Especially here where the background is tan.

Barrett Jackson isn't interested unless it is an over restored retro rod. I always figure 25% of what you have in it is doing good. 35% is exceptional. It is an MV that is not a Jeep. Makes it worth half. At least here in AZ.
