Re: NOS parts

Phoenix, AZ. Last big radiator I shipped I framed with 2x6 and cheapest plywood paneling front and back and put it in an expanding box from the movers. It can be shipped LTL to my dock at work for a better rate. Just marked top freight only. Last BIG thing I shipped was a crated 4'x8' plasma cutting...

Re: NOS parts

I'd love the radiator if you would ship it. (Nothing is too heavy to ship! I shipped a 147 Leslie speaker and a Harley Davidson in he past!)

Re: tires and rims.

The tubeless bit would be an issue for me. Putting tubes in a tubeless tire is asking for trouble, and I sure can't afford those rare 16" tubeless wheels. (unless those ARE tube type radials.)

We have dubbed mine "The Rollin' Roadblock" and scoot down the road at a whopping 42 mph! (and 10mpg)

Re: tires and rims.

I would buy a couple sets. Since I only get 5K miles out of 900-16's, I'll go through a few sets in a few years. The added speed, offset by the loss of torque, would be nice around here. Love to be able to go faster than 42mph on the highway. (And, if they are NDTs, they look cool!)

Re: A caution on NEW parts...

The windshield on my truck is an AAA part and the rubber has turned to dust. My headlamp bushings came from VPW. My Douglas stuff has come from all over. The total (multiple failure modes) junk fuel sender from MWM. The wipers from ABLINN. It isn't a single source issue. The stuff that is surviving ...

Re: Interesting windshield

Fortunately, I have a sewing machine and am not afraid to use it! I just like the idea of a 'wrong' top as I have no bows and can build to it. Or I can fab correct bows and add a skirt to it.

Re: A caution on NEW parts...

I have a company that makes custom plugs for paint masking industrial processes. As a DIY, you make a mold and inject the rubber compound. A lot of information in the train hobbies although they do it the other way around and make the mold from silicon rubber and pour plaster in it. If I do it, I'll...

Re: A caution on NEW parts...

No. I can't imagine it doing any good. They probably have no control over it, either. Now I'm concerned about all the rubber in the Douglas connectors! I'm thinking I should have them reproduced in silicon rubber here in the states and just replace them all.

A caution on NEW parts...

If you are buying any NEW mfg'd parts that have rubber components and are coming from Newstar (India, China, etc.) Expect failure inside 12 months. EVERY rubber item purchased from overseas vendors on my truck has turned to powder and failed in the last 10 months. Windshield frames, grommets, headli...

Re: My old Diesel M37 over the years

Funny, but looking at the pictures, I saw the license plate on the back and immediately checked your location. Thought the was a Historic Vehicle plate from AZ.
