Crazy Idea: NP205 case, with NP203 output

So, I got a crazy idea: does anyone know if someone has ever mated an NP203 rear full time differential to an NP205 case? I was tossing around the idea of using the 203, but its so damned big, and heavy, and chain driven. I could have the best of both worlds if I could adapt a 203 rear full time dif...

Re: SHOCK & AWE!!

I guess you must be a major stock holder in Exxon-Mobil or the like. If you are thinking you won't notice a fuel consumption difference between that gas hog & a Cummins 4BT, you are in for a real shock & awe surprise, it doesn't matter how few miles you plan to drive it per year. Good luck....

I got it! NP435/NP203 combo. bolts right together (in fact, a standard package in 70's Dodge pickups) AND, here is the cool part, its full time 4WD, with the option of locked 4WD! An AWD M37 with a twin turbo big block! I love it! :D

That was one of my considerations, but I figure I will put around 5-10K a year on the truck, and the difference in economy between the V8 and the diesel was negligible for me with that low a mileage.

going a different route... opinions wanted

Originally I planned on a cummins 4BT in my truck, but, I was perusing the local paper and stumbled on a complete, but disassembled-for-13-years big block 383... Unfortunately this got the gears turning (no pun intended) and I ended up buyig the 383. I'm not sorry at all I did, in fact, quite the op...

I think the issue with mine is that the stock springs have rotated the axle a bit, causing a few degrees of caster, so it steers like a road grader on some level. the only way to truly fix it is to cut the tubes and rotate the knuckles... but, Im not doing that for a 1.5* of caster. The other thing ...

good or bad service aside, those front fenders look fantastic... I wonder how much they want for a set...

as far as the chinese knock offs, at least some of those steering wheels certainly are. Look at the boxes they are in. They are the same steering wheels sold on Ebay.

Makes me glad mine is a 1954 and carries a michigan title currently. I don't get why they are concerned with OUR safety in these vehicles... they should be concerned with the safety of those in the Toyota prius that run the red light and pull out in front of 6000 lbs of 60 year old heat treated stee...

I never considered LEDs for the plug in rig I am dreaming up. Can you make them blink with a regular relay or is their some solid state circut you can wire in between the power supply and the LED? They will blink with a regular relay. Im sure there is a solid state circuit that will do the same, bu...

I build retrofit LED's into lots of projects. LED's WILL get considerably brighter as they approach the point of thermal runaway. 20 mA and 3.3V is a good place to start, but if you can put them on a variable power supply, increase the voltage to the point where the current draw starts to climb, th...

about the LEDS, they dont really "Care" what voltage you input, so long as it matches what they use. Any more, they will burn out, any less, they wont light. For example, white LEDS draw 20mA @ 3.3V, so this gives them an internal resistance of 165 ohms. Now, to run those on 24V, you would...

I would have to say cummins as well, I have a Case Backhoe with 4 cylinder cummins power and I am very happy with it. My 230 runs too good to change it now but will change to a 4bt eventually. I'm still undecided on a transmission because I would need something to be compatible with the factory win...
