Hiya Capnsim, Decent score there. Here's a good overview: http://www.bunkerofdoom.com/rt68/index.html I can help on some of them: The PP-112 (check the data plate on the front of the unit) is the 24v power supply for the RT-68, RT-67, and RT-66 radios. It looks as though you have about six of those....

Ray- Awesome idea! That ought to prevent the bad stuff from getting in. I like it a lot. I'll try it in two cylinders, and check them all in the spring to see if there is any difference. Thanks! Charles- Good to hear from you. I will certainly check with the man tomorrow. He knows what I'm doing (he...

Big to back, got it. Thanks M-Thrax. Lifer- I certainly agree it's excessive. I haven't seen where anyone on this board has had the same issue. What appears to be happening is that the salt-laden moisture sits in between the outer boot and the outside of the piston. Of course everytime I actuate the...

Wheel cylinder orientation?
Hi all, Doing the switch to DOT5. I can't remember for the life of me which way the large cylinder bore is supposed to face. Big to back, or big to front? All my new cylinders are in bags with no numbers, so I can't cross reference them. FNG question, to be sure... Just to add to the perpetual DOT 3...

Retired (almost), and loving it!
Hi all, I'm back in Alaska, Uncle Sugar is paying my mortgage, and the M37 is off the jackstands for the first time in two years. Life is good! My beast fired right up (well...after a fuel pump change). The batteries had enough poop in them to power a few revs with the plugs out to get the oil movin...

Looking for a medium tow bar
Hi all, I'm on the hunt for a medium tow bar. I'm planning on being at Aberdeen, then on to Ohio and Iowa, then up and across the northern tier states to Washington, and finally a short jaunt up to Alaska (late May / early June time frame). I'd rather pick-up than pay shipping. Please PM if you've g...

I run them in Alaska, and love them. Very good grip, decent wear (as long as your toe-in is correct  ). They are bias, so you get the early-morning bump until they warm up. However, they can take a bit of lead to get them in balance. I had to drive up onto the sidewalk in an icestorm, once, do...

I've used HEET at every fill-up during the winter months in coastal Alaska (cold and damp), and have never had a problem. I definitely have problems if I don't use it. We get pretty crappy gas up there, and without the alcohol my problems run the gamut from lack of power to frozen carbs. My separato...

Stuart, Looking at your photo, notice the rubber recepticle on the left has raised lines running on the length of the outside. On my M38A1 OP gauge, this is the side that the sender plugs in. The rest of my gauges are Douglas, so no help there. I remember trying to figure these plugs out before, and...

Nick, Using your screwdriver to leverage against might work fine. There isn't a whole lot of room to work right there. I was changing my hoses at the time I was installing the heater, so it wasn't that big of deal just to pop it in a vice. I was also very careful with the head plug. It was probably ...

Hi Nick, I drained the engine, removed the tube, put it in a padded vice, then I used the longest breaker bar I had with a socket. After a good soak, I tried tightening just a bit before trying to back it out. When it started coming out, I'd half-turn out, then quarter-turn back in to relieve the st...
