Why change the gearing? The truck will go scary fast with the stock gearing.

I've owned my 37 since 1962. It is modified but looks stock except for the Warn hubs, dual exhausts, white paint, and dual headlights.

I've owned my rare XM708 since 1972. It is bone stock and will remain so.

I would expect that you could alter it with plastic welding techniques.

You just open the hood, unbolt the radiator, and lift it out the top.

I'm still looking for an M37 driver's side winch bumper in decent shape.

As an inexpensive alternative, using my soft top frame as a jig, I scratch built a top out of steel sheet, using a deuce and a half rear window.

Keep in mind that the Dodge and GO shafts are different. Which is your transmission out of?

What is your input spline count and shaft diameter?

351W has a taller deck, plus the 351W rear flange departs lower and at different angles from the Hipo. Larger diameter too. Also,some of the repop Hipos have to be clearanced to clear some of the spark plugs.

Thanks. Rest of the system doesn't matter. Needs replacing anyway (67 Mustang Coupe). Turns out the two are not the same. I'm tempted to put the 289 Hipo on the 351W, but the higher outlets might cause a clearance problem.

Are the Hipo exhaust for the 351 the same as for the 289?

Yeah, that's what I remember it being. The stuff I got from Memphis Equipment was darned near black.
