Re: 1962 m37 engine and transmission

Any prospect of doing a compression test to see what it looks like?

Re: Rear Canvas Flapping

One of the canvas top suppliers offers a strap that is sewn into the top center of the cargo canvas and the strap attaches to the bow center support piece. When I get my truck back on the road I will probably add something. It can be pretty annoying with it snapping in the wind.

Re: Cross Country Transport

Well, it is a rolling frame but it still has the engine, transmission, front and rearend so I don't think crating it would be an economical option because of the weight and size.

Thanks for the suggestions.

Cross Country Transport

I purchased a rolling frame for a somewhat difficult to find Marine International 1 ton. I am trying to find the most economical way to ship it from Oregon to North Florida. Can anyone recommend a shipper? I'm not in a big hurry but need to find someone I can trust. I've heard a lot of horror storie...

Re: M37 Engine Donor?

Gary, I have spoken to a number of them. My issue is that to the best of my knowledge there aren't any in the south eastern states at all that aren't restored and running. (I don't have the money to buy one of those) I need a number of things and would really need a donor truck to even have a chance...

Re: WTB PRC 77 Back Pack Radio

Hey Bert, I was a 2531 in the Corps for a few years before switching over to aviation.... I seem to recall that the obvious indicator would be the data plate on the outside of the housing. RT 841 for a PRC-77 and RT-505 for a PRC-25. Also I seem to recall that if you do take the screws loose and sli...

Fording Valve "Normal" position

I have searched the forum some and I haven't found exactly what I am looking for. Can someone tell me what position the fording valve at the intake/exhaust manifold should be in for normal operations? The lever on mine is running parallel to the line/valve body and this position allows air to freely...

Re: How to secure top bows in the bed?

Bob, I am not at my truck and don't have a pic... so this is from memory but I saw somewhere that the top center ridge pole has a bolt hole on or near the center. The center vertical metal piece that holds the boards above the troop seats has a hole in it and a captive nut welded inside. You can see...

M37 Engine Donor?

I have a 1943 International M-2-4 (1Ton) that has the valves frozen from rust. I also just discovered some bozo welded the crank to the pulley. The original engine is a International Green Diamond 233 and parts to repair these are very difficult to find and if you can find them they are very expensi...

Re: NOS Rim

I realize it has been some time since my original post but I've been busy. Bob thanks for the info. That gives me something to go by. I guess somehow my description may have been misleading. It is a standard Budd 5 lug rim that would be found on any stock m37. I used the term locking bead referring ...

Re: GKN rims

All I know to tell you is that they are the standard replacement rim for an M101A1 trailer and it has the same hub and brake drum as the M37. I originally didn't think these would take the 9.00 tire because I believe the same manufacturer made a bunch of 1 piece rims that are Budd bolt pattern for a...

Re: Spotlight mount kits, any interest?

Just for what its worth... I had been curious about the lights themselves. I had a friend build me a mount from the plans I found here or somewhere on line. After looking at one of the previous posts from Longhunter7 and doing some on line searching I found the following information which some may f...
