Re: looking to buy a 1960 M37 (trailer help)
Hello, I read in this thread about using an equipment trailer from Sunbelt because it has heavier axles so I called Sunbelt and they say that the distance between the fender wells is 6 feet=72 inches. I am not co-located with my truck but refered to my Operators manual and it lists the width as 6ft ...

Re: Hesitation Issue and Valves
Sounds like you are making lots of progress. The only thing I thought to ask about is whether or not tinkering with slight choke settings makes any difference. Seems like I had a similar problem after I rebuilt my carb and I had the choke slightly out of adjustment.

Re: Cabell Garbee web site down?
I just heard from him and the reason the site is down is the server it was on was at a family members home in Colorado that was destroyed by fire but the hard drives made it out OK. He said it should be back up in a few weeks.

Re: M201B1 in Mopar Action Magazine
Hello Jim, I haven't spent much time on here lately but I assume this is the M201 that I sold you some time back. (?) I am glad you were able to save it. I almost pulled all the winch parts off of it to upgrade my M37 and just sold the balance. Job well done, glad another one was saved. I will try t...

Re: Water Woes
That is why I mentioned it... I didn't either, and it didn't smoke. There was a small section craced between two cylinders that allowed combustion gas to go to a water jacket but no water in oil and if you let it idle... it would all day and not over heat. When I took the head off, the piece of gask...

Re: Water Woes
I had a similar overheating issue and it was the head gasket. It would idle all day with no problem but the minute you drove it. . It would overheat in less than a quarter mile. I had straight water in it and it was, sort of white looking from bubbles being in it. My 2 cents.

Re: Oil Bypass
Charles has it right on. No plug is installed there unless you are actually doing fording. In the M151 they told us to remove as soon as we were done fording as it was not good to leave the plug in. Not sure why. . Just did as the mechs said. The plug was always stored. And painted on the dash to in...

Re: voltage regulator
Just adding my 2 cents. When my points regulator went out I bought a solid state one off eBay. I installed it and started it up and the needle went to the green for about thirty seconds then dropped off. Vendor said it is an electrical part no replacement as he said I must have installed it wrong. :...

Re: IHC MV
Bob,
Thanks for the lead. I think I got transmission parts from him when I rebuilt my tranny. I sent an email just to see what he is asking... but I would imagine since he is in Oregon and I am in MD... shipping may be an issue.
MM, thanks for being tolerant.

IHC MV
I realize that this is a non-M37 topic but guess I am reaching out to the only MV crowd I usually associate with....(did I mention I love my M-37?) I have recently discovered the IHC M-2-4. I am not sure how I have over looked it all this time. Being a retired Marine and interested in WWII era milit...

Re: Aberdeen MV Meet 2012
Alan, Thanks for the link, about half way down there is a military type manual listing that shows what is called a company field desk, that is exactly like the one I have but I tried to blow up the drawing and all it says is portable type writer.... not much to go on for a model that I know would be...

Aberdeen MV Meet 2012
I have an off the wall question. I have a medium sized box that is a type of military field desk/admin box. I thought mine had a drawer missing but I saw a box just like it at Aberdeen and a typewriter goes in this space. I didn't think about it at the time but I should have looked to see what model...

Carter,
If that was your truck when you started.... You should have an incredible sense of accomplishment.
You should be commended for your determination for sure.
Cheers,
Mark

Re: Fed up with waterproof 24 volt system
I got the Petronic electronic module that Charles Talbert sells and never looked back. My truck sits for a month or two at a time and as long as I prime the fuel pump/carb before I attempt to start it... it cranks right up. I do have a battery disconnect so that stray voltage can't drain the system....
