Re: Wiring

I bought mine from Vintage Wiring of Maine several years ago. I've never had any problems with their product and it looks like the original. I don't know what the current prices are.

Re: ROLL CALL-WHERE IS EVERYONE?

I'm still around. Just took my 1954 for a joyride today.

I've been a bit busy with a new military history museum that my local club has opened up in Greenville, SC.

Re: Screw size?

I'm not sure I'm looking at the correct screw, but it may be one that the manual lists as:

Screw, No. 12-24NC-2 x 7/8

Re: Throttle Cable Inner Wire Removal

If yours is giving you trouble you can pick up an NOS one fairly cheap. I see that VPW has them for $20 plus shipping. I got mine a few years ago for less than that, though I can't remember where.

Thanks to everyone for all this great info! Nam Vet, Is one one of these what you're using in your steering box, or close enough to it? https://www.zoro.com/mobil-mobilgear-600-xp-150-gear-oil-1-gal-103542/i/G0275046/ https://www.zoro.com/mobil-mobilgear-600-xp-460-gear-oil-1-gal-103495/i/G2797767/ ...

Re: Speedo question

This turned out to be an easy fix. I was able to do it while the transfer case was still on the truck. I'll refer to Figure 128 on page 196 of TM 9-8031-2. What I had to do was replace the speedometer drive gear (AH), which is different on the M715 than on the M37. First you remove the flange (JJ) a...

Speedo question

I just swapped out my transfer case for an NOS one. The transfer case was technically meant for an M715. I had to change out the three flanges, but my understanding is that everything else is the same. Before the swap my speedometer was showing speeds too slow by about 10%, and now its showing too f...

Re: screw jack on right rear of frame

That's really cool. Was there another jack on the other side in case it was the other side which needed to be lifted, or was the weight distribution such that it was always the right side?

Re: Anyone Going to Ripken this Week ?

The only G741 hats I saw all weekend were Sturmtyger's and mine. I bought some nice NOS steering parts off of Milstencil. I would have liked to have bought more of what he had, but my budget was light this year. He had an NOS bridging plate that I REALLY wanted, but I just didn't have the cash. He a...

Re: Electric Fuel Pump location?

Sorry for my delay in responding, but Issac is correct. My pump makes a very audible noise when I switch it on.
