Re: Swap Meet Question

If it is a military "vehicle" swap meet, you will find all kinds of things related to militia and trucks. Go and start asking for what you need. You will find a very unique group of folks that are serious about MV collecting. Word of mouth is always the longest path to finding parts. It re...

Re: Data playe info

Thanks, I saw those. Not bad but I am looking for a very clear scanable black and white picture. A local trophy shop may be able to copy and shrink into the size of the block. Then the computer does the rest. I sent the photo to a local artist to draw one, she is good (also my sister). I did find a ...

publication plate

Curious thing I can't find an answer to. The publication plate for an M37 lists LO and drivers manuels that don't match what is available. Why is that?

Re: Data plates on Glove box

I have a M43 CDN glove box door with out the responsible agency plate. Doesn't look like it was ever there but the holes for it are. Other plats are riveted in place and there are no blemishes like it had been removed. Possible that CDN trucks didn't have that one. I'll sell the door to any one that...

Re: Fans

The four blade fan has what I call a military pitch. In my M38A1 i can here the fan from the drivers seat at 40 MPH. It gives MV's a disinction. Anyone in the army was trained to identify vehicle distance after dark by that sound. Only American vehicles sound like that. Mine will pull bugs through t...

Re: front disc brake lockup

I've seen two things cause this. If it just one or both front brakes, possibly a collapsed brake hose. There are three on the front brake circuit. It will act as a check valve. It's rare on most cars but common on Mercedes. It will release with time but over heats the brakes and wears pads faster. I...

The truck is a '53 with a D42 engine coverted to 12V. It starts and charges so I cleaned up the installed ...

Parts to part with.

Hi again to you all. This is a great site. Been doing more watching than talking, but my my time has come. I am assembling a M37 CDN for our Legion post. It came with all the 24V parts and is already converted to 12V. And it does run and charge, etc. What I need is seats, paint, glass and much Misc....

Re: Exhaust Valve - Cleaning

I installed several water kits and every one of them claim improved milage. Also used to remove carbon from pistons by removing an intake vacume line and holding the windshield washer hose far enough away to allow a mist to enter the port at about 2000 RPM for 10 to 20 seconds. Worked well to stop t...

Re: Modified

Thanks for the info. This engine is coverted to 12V and has a civilian carb. I'm thinking both manifolds are civilian also. The inner fender was removed by torch method and by the looks of the parts left after the muffler fell off, a real shade tree job was done to make it fit. What a can gather, th...
