Manual mode.

I remember when going for a ride in a WWII jeep at the Gilbert Pa show, seeing the manual windshield wipers. I figured the levers on those in an M37 were for either an assist if they got stuck or for outright manual operation if the vacuum system failed, etc.

Yes, I also got mine in November. There's a tank in it, which is cool.

Mee too....

If you wind up with extras, I could use one as well. I had two, then found one in a coffee can of parts that came with the truck when I bought it. I'm still missing one though.

Screw holes.

Maybe do the same but tack weld the metal piece in place so the holes line up, then you can free up the other hand. If you're going to have to weld up a hole anyway, why not use the tack weld as the start of that process?

Leaks

This might have been said already. If so, I'll risk being redundant, are you willing to spend the money to fix the "minor" leaks? In my case I can answer that easily, "no". 1. I can't afford a rebuild. 2. If I am going to spend alot of $ on a rebuild, obviously its not going to b...

Jacks.

M376X6; Don't sweat it man, I took no offense to what you wrote. I was hoping you hadn't of me. I wasn't criticizing your choice in jacks, merely pointing out a cost difference. After I read what you wrote, I went out to the garage and took a measurement per what you said. I can see perfectly now ho...

Re: Price isn't so reasonable after all....

The shipping price to my area Pa is $17. 20. So coupled with the $29.99 price tag thats almost $50.00 for a 6 ton jack. Wal-Mart has a twelve ton single ram bottle for $34.99 without the shipping, and its raised height is close to that of the dual ram. Strictly from a cost savings standpoint I thin...

Gauge kit

Dicktater, Thanks I'll look into it. Got a slight timing issue to work on next, then will look into the gauge situation. Have plans to do this during Xmas vacation. The one thin gthat my company does right is give us off the week in between Xmas and New Years. Last year I used that time off to get a...

Copper tube

I'm no expert on M37s, Nick, but I can tell you that capillary tube oil pressure guages were around a long time before electric ones. As mentioned already, they tend to be more accurate because the oil pressure isn't "converted" to an electrical current before getting to the guage. On the...

Filter

NAPA 1100 should do ya. I know every time I go get one the parts guy looks at me and asks what the heck it fits..... Rick Funny you mentioned that. I was at the local NAPA store the other day buying filters for upcoming oil changes to our bread and butter vehicles. I figured while I was there I'd p...

Re: Rebuilt

Well folks, drips & leaks are par for the course on trucks that haven't been rebuilt correctly. We have built many that were leak free & this experience has given us opportunity to learn how to stop it. Really it amounts to this, if you want to put up with it, fine. If you don't like drips ...
